I worked at Holtec International full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Best job started working in 2006 left in 2009 started out as a temporary employee got hired on within 3 months received pay raises consistently and frequently growth opportunities to learn new skills was unlimited team of coworkers and management were excellent moved up the street from the building commute was within walking distance stayed a lot of hours past my shift just because I enjoyed what I did so much would've never quit if I didn't want to live in a warmer climate

    Cons

There aren't more locations to transfer too if you want to relocate out of state one manager was challenging to comprehend due to his broken english

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

when I worked there I didn't have any issues with management but now I have learned through current employees that many changes have been made that are harsh to lower level employees that are outside of the executive level employees

    Pros

Good pay, reasonable benefits, safety is a major concern. Some promotion and improvement of wages are available. Break room are very good

    Cons

Always being concerned about being watched by the cameras. Management never asking employees their opinion.
Some coworkers do not cooperate with others. Managers have a favorites and only give those employees respect and promotions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The employees are more intelligent than you give them credit for. Ask their opinions for something the management wants to do

I have been working at Holtec International

    Pros

Holtec International is a great learning experience and surrounds its employees with educated and professional individuals who all work together to achieve a common goal.

    Cons

The one con of working at Holtec International is that there is an occasional disconnect between engineers working in New Jersey and the manufacturing engineers located in Pittsburgh, Ohio and Florida.

    Pros

Global work opportunities, ability to work in multi-cultural teams, high growth potential, interesting work, Engineering & Manufacturing all based in the USA.

    Cons

The company's manufacturing plants are far from the corporate office. This can often cause a disconnect for some of the engineers and manufacturing employees.

I have been working at Holtec International full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast passed and fluid company. Not registered with stock market. Family owned and operated values. Multiple job functions. Flexible hours for emergency situations. Quality control is clearly stated in reams of papers.

    Cons

Long working hours. less than average pay. Weak benefits. Employee misconduct and poor communication. Lack of good leadership. Lack of quality in regards to human beings. Difficult resources to accomplish tasks. Quality Control practices are not followed. Mistakes are to be learned from and not to point fingers. Especially when you have three pointing at yourself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to realign themselves with the quality handbook that states how we are to act and interact towards one another. Less personal attracts and overly aggressiveness. Progress back to good and great management practices.

    Cons

  11. Holtec PPCD, a skeleton crew is all that remains

Current Employee - Project Engineer in Marlton, NJ

I have been working at Holtec International

    Pros

My experience at Holtec was primarily positive. However the downturn of the power industry has resulted in the loss of the management team and industry experts that made this a positive work environment.

It was a positive work environment while it lasted.

    Cons

Salary's are lower than average. All that remains of PPCD is a skeleton crew devoid of the leadership skills and technical breadth and depth of knowledge of the previous division vice president and his number two.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Rebuild.
