Pros
If you work there you learn more about completing things around the home. Being a more do-it-yourself kind of person.
Cons
You will be asked to participate in a number of things that are not apart of your regular job description.
Advice to Senior Management
Worked at Home Depot while I was in school, and even though I was told that it was not a problem, it progressively became one with the management. They were not willing to bend on a lot of things.
Pros
Flexible scheldules, reasonable coworkers, and some oppurtunities to advance as long as you are on the management team "good side".
Cons
you will stay in the same position as hired if you end up on management's "bad side". managers will tend to pick favorites and it'll be noticeable during store meetings when the same people win the awards everytime.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more, if an individual moves up position, he / she should be entitled to a higher pay, don't expect high level of work completion if the individual is getting paid anywhere from .50 to $4.00 less than their peers of the same position
Pros
Company believes in core values.
Cons
poor management, lack of training to promote
Advice to Senior Management
train, coach, and trust
Pros
Generaly a good place to work.
Cons
Dental insurance provider needs to be more effective and not play so many games with their coverage...
Pros
Not bad for a part-time job.
Cons
Store hours is from 6am to 10pm, so it means you either have to wake up early for the morning shift or go home late when closing the store.
Advice to Senior Management

Pros
Lot of opportunity within Home depot
Cons
Weak Senior Management. Top down dictative management
Pros
They provide benefits , 401k , profit sharing .
Cons
Its a popularity contest . Its very "clicky" Very lttle room for advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Be respectful to your employees . It goes a long way . Communicate within the company better. Decisions are often made hastily without asking questions or having a realistic plan.
Pros
They are fair about sick time and vacation time.
Cons
Human resources promised a raise within the first 90 days, and low balled me when starting employment. After one year of very hard work, a manager that never saw me work was assigned to assess my raise and gave me a 3% raise on minimum wage instead and failed to even prorate my pay from my anniversary forward. Strong word of advise would be to negotiate a higher than normal starting salary because they do not give good raises. Get all promises in writing, or you will get the "My hands are tied" BS.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire honest and responsible HR managers and make sure when they promise things to your staff, make sure they do so. Lying to staff creates an uncomfortable and disgruntled staff.
Pros
good benefits for the part time associates
Cons
low pay rate for associated with prior experience
Pros
Coworkers made it a fun place to work.
Cons
Working retail is a unfulfilling career.
