    ProsCasual work environment; good relationships with colleagues and co-workers; able to work independently; paid vacation, holidays and personal business days

    ConsLow salary and minimal merit increases; overtime was expected but salaried employees were not compensated; lack of adequate orientation and training; no cross-training

    Advice to Senior ManagementIt would be helpful if the managers and directors would offer training across departmental lines. Also, if salaried employees are expected to work overtime, some form of compensation needs to be given.

    ProsThere are good potentials in the niche market we fill that have yet to be realized.

    ConsExecutive staff do not communicate very well, if at all, and give the appearance of being disconnected from reality.

    Advice to Senior ManagementBe upfront with your employees, don't make statements you can't keep. In our annual review, the CEO stated that there were no layoffs being planned, but three weeks later, we cut 10% of our staff.
