I have been working at Home Instead Senior Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Rewarding work that makes a difference. The HQ office has great materials, educational videos. small territories allow for a nice pace of dayfor administrative team. Know name, diligence in hiring people to work in others homes, I like the team in my franchise,

    Cons

Absolutely NO BENEFITS. Pay nationwide is low so you must have spouse with insurance. NO paid vacation or sick leave. This is very disheartening for a healthcare agency NOT to provide any access to insurance. Your office may not provide any training at all, so you hit the ground running. Pay for folks who work ON CALL is extremely low.

    Advice to Management

The franchise headquarters SHOULD provide health care to any person working under its brand.

I worked at Home Instead Senior Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best part of working here was getting to know the families and clients that you are supporting. I was a CCC and enjoyed the fast paced environment and constant changes.

    Cons

Of course the hardest part is losing any clients because they can become part of your family after so long. Dealing with some of the caregivers can be difficult. It takes a very special person to be a GOOD caregiver and They are hard to find. To me personally, the upper management was hard to deal with. They weren't as personable as I thought they should have been. I was told that when I gave my two weeks notice because I had found another job that they thought I was "better than that". Ummm...I didn't have to give you any notice!

I have been working at Home Instead Senior Care part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Wonderful support staff. Always have good clients to work with. Very flexible hours.

    Cons

Low pay. Hours are up in the air and can change very quickly for better or for worse which is very hard as a college student.

I have been working at Home Instead Senior Care part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've learned a lot about myself and discovered a different perspective to life while working with my clients

    Cons

The pay isn't quite enough to make a living. Your pay reflects the amount of skills you possess but it's still not enough

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing you
