I have been working at Homeward Residential full-time

    Pros

    Open Door policy
Plenty of chances to learn different departments and easy going management

    Cons

CEO sold company. If you're looking to get into IT, its very close nit and youd better be close with the IT people

I worked at Homeward Residential full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

co-workers - cutting edge technology (although that was probably not maintained after Homeward was acquired by Ocwen)

    Cons

Outsourced jobs - business practices concerned me - I'm not bitter just sad for what could've been a good company. Vendors were not treated with respect or paid on time. Contractors who were in house and working quite a bit of overtime had to threaten to stop working entirely in order to get paid the over 2 months salary that was delayed. The company took money out of our checks for 401k but then delayed the deposit into our accounts. There were many examples of the business practices that concerned me but I choose not to list them all here. I especially felt bad for the call center employees who had to deal with the angry callers who felt their loans were not dealt with properly. I would see people crying because someone yelled at them or threatened their families. We all need to remember these people are only trying to support their families and they are not the people to lash out at. That job is stressful enough. All around I would not recommend the new Homeward Residential/Ocwen to anyone for any reason.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Good talent was lost - Dave Applegate is no longer the CEO but I did believe he was taking the company in a positive direction.

I worked at Homeward Residential full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The employees were great. Homeward attracted talented people. Didn't have to work a lot of overtime and the pay was good.

    Cons

Information did not always get to all the departments smoothly. Many times incorrect information was given to borrowers.

I have been working at Homeward Residential full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Leadership is strong and has a clear strategic plan. Employees are treated with courtesy, dignity and respect

    Cons

Company was purchased by Ocwen Financial and has let go most of the Homeward original staff. With this departure of these people, has also come the departure of strategy, planning and an employee-centric focus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Homeward Residential full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It is a small company trying to emerge itself into being a top bank. Therefore their is much opportunity for growth.

    Cons

Sometimes the internal issues between departments is counter productive to achieving real company growth. Upper management can often times show poor leadership skills which transcends to their subordinates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When attempting to make changes for the betterment of the company be sure to actually make real changes. Placing patches over obvious systemic holes is an act which is sure to fail.

I worked at Homeward Residential full-time

    Pros

When Dave Applegate came on board and gave this ship direction, everyone was on board with the changes that were made, including a much needed set of core values. Everyone had them, however, Mr. Applegate made them present. If this company had not been sold to Ocwen, I definitely would have stayed. 5 Star rating based on Dave Applegate's leadership.

    Cons

Acquisition was painful. Horror stories about Ocwen have all come true. Communication has dropped to almost nil. It's a sad thing to see...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not sure what advice to give as it's not taken seriously. Star ratings are based on new management. Dave Applegate gets 5 stars in all categories.
