    Pros

    Division 3 PPC Block Leader challenges me to think outside of the cubicle. Flex-time is certainly a perk. Associates are compensated and treated very well.

    Cons

    Not a full-time associate. Paid very low, but that's not Honda's fault. Staffing agency is keeping more than their fair share!!

    Advice to Management

    Hire me! I have nearly 10 years of Honda experience; R&D, HTA, Mfg line and now EGA. I'm loyal to Honda. I just wish my hard work and dedication would be rewarded, and I'm beginning to wonder if it ever will be.

    I worked at Honda Engineering North America (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Great deal of overtime
    -learn a lot about trade
    -uniforms

    Cons

    -75% travel
    -no benefits.
    -low morale.
    -Employed trough contract for up to a year with possibility of being hired, but it seems that they had no intention of hiring anyone. Immediately following the peak busy season contract employees were let go.
    -People without experience are in leadership roles.
    -Lack of help due to understaffed

    Advice to Management

    - Give a better work/ life balance.
    - Give time off for contract employees.

    Pros

    Paid Over Time, Flexible Start Time, Flexible Time Off, included benefits with good 401K matching.

    Cons

    Having to work a lot of over time to meet deadlines, frequent travel, middle management set in their ways, dealing with 'the customer' who has no intention in helping the project secede.

    Advice to Management

    Revamp performance reviews as they seem to reward the hardest working people the least.

    Pros

    Benefits, Ability to do absolutely nothing and still keep your job, Looks good on a resume.

    Cons

    Your co-workers have the ability to do absolutely nothing and still keep their jobs. There is no system to identify and groom talent. Employees are just pawns, moved around to fit the company's needs with no consideration of individual career goals or aspirations. Reviews are comical and appear to only reward perceived (not actual) effort and not actual results.

    Advice to Management

    Re-verse the lobotomies. Realize that the best talent want out and you're grooming a culture of mediocrity. Promotions should come with a raise, not a pay cut.

    Pros

    Great pay and benefits. Can make a lot of money

    Cons

    Don't even know where to begin. The most back stabbing, unorganized, unprofessional, and degrading place you can work. Whatever you do, do not come to this Division of Honda with any experience what so ever. It is not welcome nor is it excepted. It is done the most out dated way in the industry.

    Replace management, try outside Honda associates for once

    Great bonus sharing, flex time, PTO, Pension

    Cons

    Limited career Ladder. Need additional classifications for employees. Lots are stuck at coordinator for 10 years + and will never make staff engineer.

    Advice to Management

    Make more aggressive decisions. Don't get stuck on this is how we always do business. Keep looking for additional talent with former automotive experience.

    Pros

    Honda Engineering has an excellent benefit package that is unmatched in the region. Opportunity to travel to Japan and other regions in the US.

    Cons

    There is nothing Engineering about this company, innovation and Honda Engineering do not go hand-in-hand. Engineering methods and checks are outdated and are irrelevant due to the poor culture of not doing PDCA or checking if the final design matches design intention. Design mistakes are always repeated due to what I mentioned before. Engineers are just there to put out fires, the jobs are very unsatisfying and there is mayor discontent among engineers.
    Executive and Senior Management beg for new ideas, but yet they do not open the channels of communications for engineers to suggest them and the few new ideas that they allow have to be reviewed in countless and unnecessary review meetings.
    The workload in this place is unreal, it is up to you to halfway finish the hottest items and miss out on your personal life or miss some deadlines and get to see your family for a bit every day. Either way you will be look down upon. Getting promoted in this place if a real joke, you get a minor salary increase and loose your overtime. Yet, they will assign you to more work.

    Advice to Management

    Get out of you cubicle and do some Gemba ("on the spot") verification of the problems all divisions face. Especially when it come to low manpower and poor strategy and planning of future workload.

    Pros

    Independence and driven to think on your own. Practice of "go to spot" encourages people to get out of their area and gain first hand experience on other aspects of the business.

    Cons

    At times, can be too focused on the external customers and not the internal customers. Resistant to change and adapt to employees wants and needs.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to associates and be concerned about knowledge transfer. The next generation is going to need adaptation and flexibility.
