I have been working at Honda full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Salary and Benefits. Some coworkers are nice.

    Cons

The systems and work rules are old.
    The culture is soul crushing.
    Management only care about bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Current Intern - Co-Op/Intern in Tallapoosa, GA

I have been working at Honda as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

It is very laid back environment and everyone is very understanding with the time frames for bulky projects.

    Cons

don't see much opportunity to really grow
also very few references for information concerning software development in house

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

documentation of what a new associate should become familiar with would help with bringing anyone up to speed. I am still asking what do they call certain equipment and their different processes so that my projects will be more effective, but learning the process in the middle of a project slows the project down and could lead to misconceptions if the process is explained in a rushed manner.

    I worked at Honda

    Pros

Marysville is a nice place to ride around.

    Cons

The company has several problems with being respectfully and Honorable. Being picky and revengfull is not Honorable.

I got a State Job after I left. I got tired of so many inexperienced personnel running drama. So many people pretend to be running something and in the end it means 5th grade.

You would think people in there were running NASA. In reality they are rude, crude, uneventful dramatic reality stars.

The treatment toward US Veterens is sad. Honda should know that America has allowed them to do business here. They can leave tomorrow which is where some of the business already has left and stayed.

Aloha MEXICO. That's the start of the end for Honda. Hyunda is producing better cars at a cheaper rate. Honda recalls are at a record high and not Hot tempered Manager is going to stop them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Go back to Japan

I have been working at Honda full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Discontinued employee pensions but, according to a senior executive, "Honda's decision wasn't as bad as that of other companies?"
    Still have health benefits.....for now.

    Cons

Certain vital administrative functions are denigrated and de-resourced to the point of nonexistence.
Spending half a billion dollars on HondaJet. Good luck making a profit on that...
Spending hundreds of millions on F1...again.
Obsolete enterprise systems patched together with standalone spreadsheets makes effective project management and coordination virtually impossible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You don't have a clue what your business is or how valuable the few loyal (to the company, not to the did functional management) employees are. Focusing on metrics instead of productive and necessary activities while cutting resources is a recipe for failure.

    Pros

you can make a LOT of money very fast if you are willing to work for it. Commission based = the harder you work the better the results in your pocket.

    Cons

Very competitive which equals to fighting amongst your coworkers for those customers. Hours are very long. Lots of outdoor work. requires a certain personality
