Current Employee – been working at Honda of America Mfg.
Pros – Good starter job
Looks good on resume
Most people are friendly
There is nothing else remotely PRO about working for this company.
Cons – With each promotion your dollar/hour worked decreases.
Promotions awarded based on amount of brown-nosing or who you know and even then they are few and far between.
Performance review system is a joke. Ratings determined before reviews are given.
Benefits have been cut to average and pay is below average.
Complete idiots hold most of the mid to senior level management positions. Most of these people have no engineering or technical background.
If you're good at a job, expect to stay in that job for the rest of your career.
Absolutely NO work/home balance. If you plan to have a family STAY AWAY.
600 hrs of OT a year. Work 75% of all weekends and holidays.
All this and a 1% pay increase every year, what's inflation going for these days?
Advice to Senior Management – As if they would take the time to listen and act to advice? For example, professionally approached my department manager about pay increase. After I listened to him whine about how much he makes....... said he would talk to some people and get back with me. After 3 months, still waiting. Goodbye Honda.

Current Employee – been working at Honda of America Mfg.
Pros – Each Honda year of experience is like 5 years at other companies. You will learn so much...
Cons – Too many chiefs, not enough Indians!...
Advice to Senior Management – Practice the Honda Philosophy that you make us learn.

Current Employee – been working at Honda of America Mfg.
Pros – Decent Pay
Job experience
Low pressure for quality
Educating
Some options to move around within plant
Cons – Temps get worthless benefits
No real future (temps don't get hired on and some been there for 5-10 years)
Cannot take any day off unless you earned your call-off days
Hard workers are used and not valued
Almost no flexibility to live a real life
Drained of life (overtime-six days aweek)
Filthy air within plant
NOT Multicultural (country, hillbilly) - Allows for people to buddy up and promoat friends
To keep people that don't fit **above** they need to mix and be much more diverse
Everything is breaking down (gotten to be daily now, they aren't upgrading the oldest Honda's American plant, while pouring hundreds of millions in all the others)
Advice to Senior Management – Value your hard workers and please be professional. I am extremely shocked how bad it can be. Watching a coordinator hitting on women, and light touching. No woman should feel forced to take a man bs. I wish Honda woke up and devote themselves to build a great product. Lazy management tends to take advantage of every way they can and think of themselves first and their Pals!

Pros – 1.5 pay overtime for level 1 engineers and in some departments is pretty much unlimited how much overtime you can work
peer engineers
holiday shutdown in july and december
Cons – No flex time
moving up and promotions are worthless, take the overtime away, and no pay increase

Former Employee – worked at Honda of America Mfg.
Pros – Vacation, Holidays off, Pay, Medical Benefits, Sometimes you get a bonus but It doesn't amount to what the Ohio plants get.
Cons – I started working for Honda Manufacturing of Indiana when it first opened its doors. I worked there for 3.5 years and had enough. I was a regular production worker in quality with a 4 year degree. I thought since there was only a limited people in my department that had a college degree, my chances of advancing were good. I was wrong. The manager of the department valued ass kissers over hard workers. Then when 2nd shift came around they started promoting the slow lazy employees to get them off the line. I never had any feedback about my performance with Honda. They don't respect hard working employees or recognize it. They also have a open door policy that doesn't exist. Ive seen many employees go to management with problems then later terminated.
Advice to Senior Management – Respect and recognize your hard working employees. I cant speak for other departments management, but this department got a bad manager handed down from Ohio that would not go away.

Current Employee – been working at Honda of America Mfg.
Pros – Descent starting salary, good benefits, consistent salary bump for the first 2 years. Very secure job, no layoffs. Good resume builder for new / young engineers
Cons – promotions are based on seniority at the lower levels, no reward for job performance. EC promotion is a joke, (paycut) while the work load / expectation increases. Performance reviews are pre-determined before they are even completed, so why bother?
Advice to Senior Management – Performance review / promotion system needs improved so that associates have clear measurbles based on performance. Just becasue someone received a raise / promotion doesnt mean next years review should go to crap because of it.

Current Employee – been working at Honda of America Mfg.
Pros – Honda quality is among the best in the industry. Room for growth if you are in the good old by club / a brown noser.
Cons – Got to be a kiss but or a back staber to get a head in the company
Advice to Senior Management – Fire all the but kissers and promote the people that do there job, and lister to the people on the floor.
