    Hard Work, Good Pay

    Assembly Associate (Current Employee)

ProsGood pay, good benefits. Overtime pay. You always know what your pay will be because everyone makes the same amount of money. Uniforms. No need to ruin your own clothes.

ConsRecently a lot of overtime on weekends. 30 minutes overtime on week days. Equipment breakdowns. Employes who do subpar work make the same amount of money as excellent workers. Whiners get off of the hard jobs and the hard workers have to pick up the slack. Assembly is extremely hot in the summer. Uniforms do not breathe.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the people who do the processes before changing the way things are done. All plants should have the same standars. If one plant requires sleeves to be down and snapped, they all should. Get cooler uniforms.

    Great place to gain experience

    Co-Op (Former Employee) Raymond, OH

ProsTeam-focused environment, wearing a uniform every day saves time, saves money, and allows all associates to be treated equally, ample break time

Conspay structure is very flat, not a lot of advancement opportunities, associates tend to get 'stuck' in certain departments

Advice to Senior Managementemployees should be promoted based on merit, not only on length of employment, pay structure should not be as flat to encourage associates' performance

Honda Manufacturing - o.k. but not great.

Engineering Coordinator (Former Employee) Marysville, OH

ProsIf you're a young engineer - especially one without a family - it's a great place to go and work a ton of overtime and get paid for it. They have recently introduced newer technology in both the manufacturing and design areas, which is exciting.

ConsWork-life balance is horrible. Working at Honda is a lifestyle, not a job or career. If you have children in school - be accustomed to missing events and missing holidays with your family.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to find a way to better balance work and family life with exempt associates. Often times, the hourly production workers are much better 'taken care of' than management / technical staff. There has recently been a push - especially within HAM - to reduce overhead manpower. That is understandable, but the methods for doing so are leading to a culture where those who you don't want to leave (the younger, more efficient staff) are leaving and those you don't want to stay (the more experienced, more costly, less effective staff) are staying.

Worked there 27 years, career advancement is good if you get along with the boss.

Honda Associate (Former Employee) Marysville, OH

ProsGood people, decent pay, good hours

ConsVery redundant type atmosphere. Check Check double check! Honda is cost cutting big time. They are taking away benefits and not giving raises like they use too.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook around more, dont select peoplae based on how well you get along with them.

Challenging, great for resume, place to land for a few years then get out.

    Buyer (Current Employee) Raymond, OH

ProsLots of individual decision making, lots of responsibility and chances to make decisions.

ConsLarge office, no much chance for promotion, very manufacturing orientated workplace. Mid level management doesn't do much, more babysitting than actually responsibility, which is passed onto lower level associates.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore incentives, more reason to do a "better" job, not promoted because of how long you've sat in chair rather how much you've accomplished.

Not the same company I hired into

    Engineer (Current Employee)

ProsMany opportunities to try new things. Good health benefits. Reduced rate lease car benefits for management.

ConsFew development opportunities. Lack of respect and appreciation for experienced associates. Lower than average professional compensation.

Advice to Senior ManagementReturn to Honda Philosophy. Question leadership and go to the spot. Improve work environment for engineers in manufacturing.

    Assembly

    Assembly (Former Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsOT and nice people to work around.

ConsSame thing and hard to develop career.

Advice to Senior ManagementOpportunities to enhance careers.
