I worked at Hondros College full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Having a small niche company, or even family, was very nice to walk into everyday. I loved my position and loved helping the students. The college was serious about their goals and had a wonderful learning environment. I only left to further my education.

    Cons

The biggest downside to the company was the small size. It made it hard to climb the ladder and everyone knew everyone. The pay wasn't fantastic, though I was happy with my salary coming straight out of college.

I worked at Hondros College (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly colleagues, warm and nice facility.

    Cons

Way too much work for the salary. You are never done with your job. Unable to take time off when you need, only when classes are not in session. Unorganized throughout.

    Advice to Management

Convince owner of College to increase salaries substantially and you may draw in quality people.

I worked at Hondros College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Other than the students, there isn't too much to admire. Some coworkers will try to be team players, but they are the minority. The instructors are nice, but they are severely under paid.

    Cons

Most of the corporate staff are 2-faced and out for themselves. Upper Management provides no direction and likes to blame everyone but themselves for mistakes, and for not meeting goals and objectives. Expectations tend to be unreasonable and unfair.

    Advice to Management

Provide direction and be accountable for your team and staff. Don't place blame on others to save-face and make yourself look good. Most of the VPs, Directors, and especially the owners of Hondros are so out-of-touch it's pathetic.

    Pros

The pros of working at Hondros College are the co-workers and the students. There is a good group of people who band together to so the right thing. The faculty want to give students the best education; they really care.

    Cons

Upper-management; cliques and back-stabbing; low pay for faculty; high turnover; low student retention and pass-rates; schedules change; corporate thinks they are better than the campuses

    Advice to Management

Mentor the new managers; ask faculty to the table to make decisions; train the new faculty to teach; listen before reacting; stop playing favorites

I have been working at Hondros College part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Latitude in classroom as long as all material is covered. Nice facilities that are kept very clean Good locations in good neighborhoods

    Cons

Director of faculty turnover seems a bit high and each new director seems to want to change what the prior faculty manager was doing. No raises in the past 8 years.

    Advice to Management

Pay raises would be appreciated. We see full class rooms in most areas.

I worked at Hondros College full-time

    Pros

Facility and lower level for most part care about the students, their success, and the success of the college. Very nice small campus feeling.

    Cons

Corporate leadership makes it very hard for its facility and staff to do their jobs effectively due to the lack of willingness to provide the right tools and support to do so. Ownership preaches values and culture but on the backend, do not practice it. This is evident to the staff and faculty and because of the political games, there is a feeling of arrogance. Very high turn over.

    Advice to Management

Support and treat your faculty and staff better and the college will thrive, continue down current road and the future would appear stagnate for Hondros College!
