I have been working at HoneyBaked Ham full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for! Other than the holiday season it's very laid back. Gained valuable work experience.

    Cons

Not as much room for advancement as I would like. Holiday season can be a little rough the first time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

upper management is great. They are extremely hard working and you can tell they care about the well being of the company.

I worked at HoneyBaked Ham full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Free food when working. 50% discount off products. Reasonable store hours. Very hands-on environment with small staff size allowing for easier implementation of changes permitted by company.

    Cons

Lack of training. Was told I would have 3 weeks of training and only provided 1 week of broken training before holiday. Say good-bye to a personal life between the end of October to New Year's. Very little supervisory support. Terrible problem resolution with HR issues. Company keeps management hands cuffed to make executive decisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow-through on commitments. Don't degrade salary and hourly store level staff. Have future goals for your stores. Actually provide training as promised.

I have been working at HoneyBaked Ham full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

During non peak time job is a breeze.

    Cons

Holidays of course are very busy. As a manager you can expect to work at least 80 plus hours in a given holiday week. Upper Management and Corporate do not value their employees. Turn over is becoming a constant thing with good people leaving yearly. Raises are very very very rare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start valuing the employees you have otherwise they will keep leaving. Keeping the great workers who know your product and company is much easier than having to keep looking for replacements.

I worked at HoneyBaked Ham part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You could talk familiarly to the managers and your coworkers. They were all very welcoming and did their best to teach me what I didn't know, or find someone who could. If a shift didn't work for you, you could tell them, and they would fix it. Plus, you got a free ham for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

    Cons

I was either scheduled too many hours. or not scheduled at all. I was never fired, they just stopped scheduling me and I stopped calling.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate with your employees. Talk to employees about other positions in the company before hiring from outside.

I have been working at HoneyBaked Ham part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

My manager works with my schedule and periodically checks up on me during the rush to make sure i' okay. Because the hours are extremely long sometimes and the customers are not always easy. Good co-workers, and a good reputation at my store.

    Cons

During the busy seasons hours are long, hard and tedious. But that's generally the thing you expect in customer service jobs.

Often moved around from one job to another depending on what's needed. But mostly you're put in the area you are best at.

I worked at HoneyBaked Ham full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I should note that there are 4 distinct divisions of HoneyBaked Ham, so each location should be viewed entirely separately. I worked for HoneyBaked Ham of GA.

HoneyBaked was a great place to work in the Atlanta area and was super focused on serving their customers well.

    Cons

I would have liked to have seen more work put into career development, specifically in identifying KPIs that employees can achieve to broaden their skill and scope and thus merit higher compensation.
