Pros
Huge Inc. lots of opportunities to horizontal growth. They take care of employees and understand the concept of life balance.
Cons
Going up the corporate ladder in Honeywell is just like a politics campaign. You can pretty much suck at your work, but if you can lower your head at management and give orders to peers and subordinates you are on your way.
Advice to Senior Management
Have an open mind, try to envision longer term investments specially in emerging markets. Hire creative people with the power to overcome bureaucracy.
Pros
Opportunities to grow (however limited)
Opprtunities for personal development
Job security
Relocation possible due to the company opretates worldwide
Cons
Not realy easy to get sallary increase when you are promoted
Salary diference between newcomers and promoted (the promoted will not get the same level salary as the newcommers)
Education is undervaluated (not realy recognised)
Advice to Senior Management
Please, get the existing employees applying for a new job within the company on the same level with the newcommers (salary - existing emploees when promoted do not have a chance to get same salary as the newcommers). Please, value education through salary and promotions.
Pros
Team work with team members is good
Cons
Job profile of senior consultants should be imporved
Advice to Senior Management
Equality to all employees
Pros
Honeywell provides goods and services that I am proud to be part of. Most products that I work with help building owners save money by reducing energy consumption. Also, it is nice to work for a company that is doing well.
Cons
It can be easy to get stuck in your job. Just need to be proactive about where you want to go.
Advice to Senior Management
Give back the 401k match that you took away several years ago.
Let employees purchase extra vacation.
make it easier to take a 6 month sabbatical.
Pros
There is no lack of challenges you are faced with on a daily basis which is beneficial to personal & professional growth. Salary and benefits are competitive.
Cons
- No leadership and lack of decision making from Senior Management
- Tremendeous amount of workload to be handled on a regular basis
- Centralizing IT & Accounting to India & South America to save cost is a poor decision as it increases workload for local employees to make up for disengaged and poorly trained off-site employees or contractors
- No personal life due to late work hours and even weekend work
Worst place I have ever worked at in terms of overall job satisfaction.
Advice to Senior Management
Involve employees who actually do the work more in decision making, show leadership and support to employees to overcome hurdles together rather than putting things in place which don't work and create more work and frustration for everyone.
Pros
good project to work with
Cons
always cover some work as an entry level engineer eg. generate some script, drawings for senior engineer
Advice to Senior Management
NA
Pros
Overall "Drive to Win" mentality good to keep spirits up in the office. Very rewarding that your apart of something important (and makes the company money). Good 401k with dollar for dollar match. For salary employees, free to have flexible hours but deadlines MUST be met. Senior management are very intelligent and everyone has bought into their vision for the company.
Cons
With numerous managers and senior employees ready to retire, capable employees are not being prepared or trained to move to the next level. Most of these employees get frustrated at the lack of movement and salary increases to stay around.
Salaries are not based on the local area but more of a national level which hurts hiring and obtaining good talent in locations that require higher salaries like Chicago, Boston, California.
Advice to Senior Management
Make the investment to keep the future leaders of this company. Most of us are proud working for a great company but cannot stay around when competitive companies are offering much better salaries and greater movement.
Pros
1. Strong Brand
2. Good foundation
3. Global Exposure
Cons
1. Poor Pay
2. Poor Research
3. Not very employee oriented
Advice to Senior Management
Should focus more on employee satisfaction
Pros
Good work enviroment
Good e-trainings
It gives you knowledge and experience since you have to learn on your own most of the work you are supposed to do because your first level manager doesn't know how to do it and you will have more tasks to do than your "HPD goals" meantions
Cons
Payment
Lack of respect from leaders and 2nd level managers
Lack of opportunities if you are focused on working hard to achieve your goals because you don't have the time to "sell" yourself
Advice to Senior Management
You should take seriously your employess thoughts and you should let them talk about how they feel.
Pros
great people in general, friendly.
Cons
Senior Management not great communicators, not great leadership by any means
Advice to Senior Management
provide more LEADERSHIP
