Pros
Within the HR function, Honeywell is a great brand and a company that you can be proud to work for. You are guaranteed to have smart colleagues around you within a stable company that is truly global.
Cons
Advancement opportunities are not always given to the best qualified. Pathways program participants are given priority, even if they are underqualified or incapable. There is a fraternity of BYU grads within the HR leadership structure so if you want to become a senior leader, get a BYU degree first.
Advice to Senior Management
For those on the outside looking in at the opportunities afforded to Pathways program participants, it is demoralizing. Don't automatically rule out the non-Pathways employees as they may be more capable.
Pros
Excellent early career development and training. Pay is above average for function. Good businesses to be a part of and proud working for.
Cons
Assessments of employees can turn on one person's opinion or one incident. Feedback is not consistent or non-existent. Political culture.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop playing favorites. If someone is considered to be so good, put them in difficult jobs in businesses in the field where they don't have your direct interaction or support every day.
Pros
Growth culture, strong processes, relative autonomy for business units
Cons
some processes can be stifling
Advice to Senior Management
ditch SAP

Advice to Senior Management
Investing in employees will fetch better returns
Pros
Opportunities are endless for someone that is smart, capable, hard-working, ambitious and mobile. You will never be short of a challenge and learning.
Cons
Departments can be lean with high expectations of employees. Demands, workload, and pressure can be very high at time. This is common across many functions. Recommended for those that enjoy learning and a challenge.
Pros
There are opportunities in Honeywell , but important is you have to Awail it .
No one will force you to do , but you have to only take a step for your enhancement.
It is just like a government job .
Cons
salary is too low . Not new technology using .
Pros
Excellent benefits
Great CEO with long term vision
Competitive salaries
Cons
Employees need to feel valued and not just treated like a number
More emphasis on growing people instead of getting the lowest 10% out the door year after year
Advice to Senior Management
Even Jack Welch pulled back on his notion of clearing out the lowest 10% every year. Need to find ways to get the most productivity out of each employee and build up loyalty to the company again.
Pros
My boss is very nice and result-oriented. He helped me a lot and enlarged my view in the entire enterprise.
Cons
There is a little mess about the organization of the whole company. Maybe more connection between different apartments would be better.
Pros
Stable industry and company. Diverse business
Cons
Not much growth. Recently delisted from the Dow 30.
Advice to Senior Management
Good training program. International exposure.
Pros
international, productive, profitable, high growth
