I have been working at Honeywell full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The Benefits are good and we have many discounts available. The Flexible schedule is a great bonus but making us jump through hoops to use it, not so much!

    Cons

The Good ole boy system is alive and well at the top and Advancement to management level is non existent. Supervisors are too busy attending meetings to actually know what's going on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Honeywell full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Personal growth is there if you push hard enough, promotions vary by department, benefits were once very good.

    Cons

Lack of loyalty. Benefits have declined over the years but upper management gets rewarded bonuses for work that someone else is doing. Credit is not given where it need to be leaving low morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You people are your assets not your product. Once this is realized morale will change as long as environment changes with it.

I worked at Honeywell full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Good work life balance
    - Job stability
    - Good place to work for short term and see if you "land" up with right people who are open minded !

    Cons

    - Bureaucracy in different levels
    - Mid-level management does not promote talent and is insecure

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - The encouragement can be done by somehow removing the bureaucracy and giving freedom to people to innovate
    - The growth of people could be "performance" based in its true sense
    - Some people are just wasting there time and dont even allow others to contribute or do good... it could help the company if the value addition can be measured at each level and opportunities given accordingly

I have been working at Honeywell full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Best reasons are diverse workforce and challenging work

    Cons

Bonuses are non existent to Salaried paid Accountants and Analysts, not to mention lower level employees. Better pay and iincentives are desparately needed to motivate and keep talent. Merit raises are almost non existent for positions under mgmt levels, and outcome always seems to be "AVG" year after year, no matter how hard you work, or the long hours you put in. When hired, the implied message was that there is much room to move up the corporate ladder, but in reality you are stuck in the position you were hired in, and are rarely allowed to advance upward or receive bonuses and incentives along with upper manangement, even with advanced education. The CEO and upper eschelons of the company make exponentially more in comparison to the average Professional salaried worker.

I worked at Honeywell as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

This company is a fantastic place to do an internship. I got hands-on experience which my prospective employers are pleased with. My father has been working here for 27 years as an electrical engineer and has nothing but great things to say about the company; they have treated him very well.

    Cons

The health insurance plan could be better and there is no pension (although this seems to be the trend at most employers nowadays).

    Keep doing what you're doing!

I worked at Honeywell as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The company was great to work for, the people were very kind, responsive, outgoing and great to work for. The supervisors were very good to work for because when I had questions I could call them and have them answered. The work schedule was great because I got to choose the time for the first appointment. The training process was great and greatly improved my understanding of my responsibilities of the job.

    Cons

There was a lot of paperwork that had to be done on a daily basis, it was very time consuming.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Go paperless, using Ipads.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The opportunities to advance your professional knowledge are endless.
Contingent on your manager, you will soon become respected in your field.

    Cons

Almost all ways to advance are contingent on your manager.
Pay and benefits are mediocre, with benefits especially, being meager for such a large corporation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make career advancement paths more transparent
