I worked at Honeywell as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Middle management is supportive and you'll likely meet life long friends. Pay and benefits are about average. Value innovation.

    Cons

Like many companies, executives are commited to the outsource model. Some of network is heavily outdated and relies on legacy systems. There is limited opportunity to work from home.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop outsourcing all support services

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Honeywell gives decent benefits for a large corporation. The company is a stable place to work long term. Global company and provides opportunity to move around the company easily. Work life balance is great. Most managers are good with flexible schedules.

    Cons

Benefits are being reduced every year for the past 5 years. Honeywell is a technology company that prides in creating new technology. However, the technology it uses to build the new things are 20-30 years old, resulting in unnecessary burden on engineers. The company has become so large that it is now all about profit. Too many young and talented engineers have left in recent years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the people that work for you and actually live up the "People" initiative always being mentioned. Provide them a good work place environment. Stop cutting benefits every year. All the best people will leave and the company will be left with people who are just waiting for retirement. This company is headed back to the days of 1990s and early 2000s.

I worked at Honeywell full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Personal growth is there if you push hard enough, promotions vary by department, benefits were once very good.

    Cons

Lack of loyalty. Benefits have declined over the years but upper management gets rewarded bonuses for work that someone else is doing. Credit is not given where it need to be leaving low morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You people are your assets not your product. Once this is realized morale will change as long as environment changes with it.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Comepensation was great, benefits were great, colleagues were super-friendly. Enjoyed working there.

    Cons

Top management cut salaries during the recession, but they did not take pay-cut themselves, so that was a bit disappointing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more transparent, inclusive, and agile. Your management style (top-down) is getting too old school.

I worked at Honeywell as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

This company is a fantastic place to do an internship. I got hands-on experience which my prospective employers are pleased with. My father has been working here for 27 years as an electrical engineer and has nothing but great things to say about the company; they have treated him very well.

    Cons

The health insurance plan could be better and there is no pension (although this seems to be the trend at most employers nowadays).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
