I have been working at Honeywell full-time

    Pros

Large market share and working capital leads to some stability. Good place to be a number that earns a paycheck with no real performance expectations.

    Cons

Leaders forsake employees and company best interest to get ahead. Benefits far below industry average. Little to no employee empowerment.

    I worked at Honeywell

    Pros

Lots of opportunity due to the variety of businesses that are part of the Honeywell business groups - different businesses with different markets

    Peers knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful

    Cons

Work/life balance is a dwindling concept - many roles require hours well beyond a 40 hour work week

Professional development opportunities need to be improved

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow discussion and understanding rather than simply making demands. To focused & motivated on your annual bonuses at the expense of subordinates

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and leave time. Some training provided. Sometimes lunch provided at All Hands meetings.

    Cons

Two times during my employment there I witnessed women who were very flirtatious rise up the ranks to high paying positions while the rest of us more qualified and educated persons are left in the dust. This location (Blount Island - Jacksonville, FL) is run by many retired military men. They don't seem to understand that these women are only flirting with them to get bonuses and raises and that the women never (repeat NEVER) will go out with them!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit promoting based on how much a woman flirts and charms you - she doesn't really mean it, she just wants more money and she's making a fool of you! You have more qualified and educated women working there who will do a much better job for you, if you'd run the place with your brain and not your johnson.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

new building to work in, if you get in the right group you could go far, if you like meetings this is the place for you, partially matched 401K, insurance offered,

    Cons

too many meetings, not worker friendly, wait in line to go to the bathroom, terrible children like rules like tape outlining on floors and tables where to put things, culture derived from 50 year old principals instituted in Japan, too many layers of management, can be friction at times between union hourly/Honeywell salary/independent contract workers, 9 block system for salary

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

seriously? why bother telling management anything? they'll listen. . .one ear and out the other

    Cons

Not high paying or great health benefits. Feel like just an employee ID number when working for a big-name company.

    Pros

Solid big Company in many fields of en-devour they They have Reasonable benefits and salary along with plenty of opportunities for training and growth.

    Cons

Almost too big, they are big and slow to change. along with that many of the decisions are made irrespective of logic. Thinking that they can offshore the work or just buy competitors and chop them up and distribute the pieces around the globe. Not always the best pieces just the ones that got there first. In short the company is a bully

The CEO is the real deal.

    Cons

Mediocre benefits. Too many uptight people. Depressing office space.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work/life balance for real, not just lip service. Allow more telecommuting. Give more vacation time for lower salary band employees.
