I worked at Honeywell full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Nice facility, opportunity to work with people locally and internationally.

    Cons

The company claims that it is a progressive one offering good benefits, competitive pay, training opportunities and career growth. Over the 6 years I worked there, the company said it couldn't afford to pay our earned merit increases for 3 of those years while the CEO received his, and compensation fell well below industry standards. Benefits only became more expensive each year, although they did contribute funds to your HSA to help. My management would not pay for the training opportunities that were available to me because they believed their current practices were satisfactory - innovation and risk taking were discouraged and you would get a slap on the hand if you made recommendations to senior management. Finally, unless you worked in Finance, management and HR were not interested in career planning or development. I watched dozens of talented college graduates leave the company over my 6 years there to work for a different company that was actually invested in their employees and developing talent for long-term growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're missing out on hard working, young talent. If you don't create a career development plan for college graduates, you will continue to lose them to competitors who will actually help them grow in their careers.

    I worked at Honeywell

    Pros

The work and responsibility entrusted was awesome. Learnt a lot from both the work and the people working with. Fun, positive looking team

    Cons

Disappointed that they did not come through for me when I needed a relocation. Each one looks out for themselves and inspite of putting in multiple years, you are left high and dry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look out for your employees, especially the ones who want to make a career with Honeywell.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Ability to work remotely
Good holiday time off, vacation, PTO and STD benefits
    Some managers encourage individual growth

    Cons

Work/life balance can be challenging. Health care is way too expensive and what you get is not worth it. Many inconsistencies between organizations and leaders. Raises are laughable if they even happen. There is no cost of living raises any more. Leadership is more interested in the bottom line rather than the people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to focusing on your employees. Happier workers make for productive workers.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A place where everyone's ideas are heard. A strong focus on continuous improvement at all levels of the organization. A place where you really own your own career.

    Cons

Very long hiring process compared to similar companies. Potential for high subcontract workforce to offset long and slow hiring process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire fast and hire smart. Great people are being lost to competitors that bring talent in to their organizations with velocity.
