Pros
Technology, Self-growth, good support from the technology specialists, great place for creativity and innovation
Cons
you should be responsible for your growth, only few opportunities are provided by the seniors. Less onsite opportunities
Advice to Senior Management
Sometimes they need to think on benefits side giving to the employees. Earlier it was good and it was coming down year to year.
Pros
Open to hiring people with commercial experience and training them on the defense industry
Good job for the Colorado Springs area
Increasing rate of improvement for processes and culture.
Sr. Leadership is Increasing the skill and talent level of management at all levels.
Cons
1970's perspective on work/life balance. No telecommuting, time tracked like an hourly employee regardless of whether you are or not, more time focused than results focused.
Lots of politics get in the way of progress.
HTSI invests almost NOTHING in it's employees, facility or infrastructure. Corporate takes all the profit without any reinvestment in the team and technology that made them the money in the first place.
Benefits are, by senior management's own admission, at 50% percentile and they talk about that as something employees should be happy about.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest back into the employees and infrastructure so we can actually become the technology leader we say we want to be.
Figure out how to improve work/life balance or you'll continue to have a revolving door of talent.

Pros
Good compensation. Room to expand within the company. There is plenty of opportunity for travel if you are so inclined to do so.
Cons
Lots of travel. Senior level engineers seem to withhold information as a type of job security. Upper management has not a clue of the life of the peasants. As with any other defense/aerospace contractor, politics rule the world. The simplest project should have taken 6 months but was scheduled and budgeted for 2 years. Just ridiculous. This place made me an angry taxpayer.
