It is a good company with a lot of room for moving around and expanding your skills.

    Pros

The company has a large portfolio of product so it is stable even if one sector has a decline. It is also easy to move around the company and really figure out what you enjoy doing as a career. The company also recognizes dedicated workers and moves them up the food chain by bouncing through different departments.

    Cons

The benefits are awful. There is a high deductible plan in play right now so a simple visit to the doctor, dentist or anything health related is a real financial struggle. Time-off is standard for a large corporation but getting unpaid time off is next to impossible.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with the good work of promoting fair and dedicated upper management. All of the managers in the engineering departments are excellent. Also, the health of the company depends on the health of the employees, so you may want to rethink your health policy before it bites back.

    Pros

Solid CEO who has grown the Company well. The rest of Senior Leadership is questionable at best.

    Cons

Way to many reorganizations in all sectors of the company.

    Advice to Management

Stop reorganizing every two to three years. I have been through several iterations and it always comes back to a former structure eventually. Good people lose their careers in these reorgs.

    Pros

    Good pay
    Clean environment
    Great safety processes

    Cons

They say the company says that they're doing well and there will be no layoffs no matter what three weeks before Christmas I leave work on a Friday night I get a call on Monday morning that it's not my place of work anymore and Friday was my last day, I don't have a job.

    Advice to Management

    Grow a spine.

    Pros

Great company to work for... made lots of great friends, great benefits and pay.

    Cons

Overworked at times and some employees are overloaded while others are not.

    Advice to Management

Think more about the people under you they are overworked

    Pros

Good pay and challenging work...the brands are exceptional and strategic acquisitions always seem to be winners and enhance the bottom line.

    Cons

Benefits are becoming a bad joke and there is no such thing as work life balance. Upper management in IT has become the mutual admiration society (they all love each other but not the actual workers).

    Advice to Management

They completely fear making a decision...time to put the big boy pants on (ladies too) and make a decision and live with the results good or bad.

    Pros

Personal growth is there if you push hard enough, promotions vary by department, benefits were once very good.

    Cons

Lack of loyalty. Benefits have declined over the years but upper management gets rewarded bonuses for work that someone else is doing. Credit is not given where it need to be leaving low morale.

    Advice to Management

You people are your assets not your product. Once this is realized morale will change as long as environment changes with it.

    Pros

    Great Place to Work.
    - Interesting work
    - Always improving
    - Great Confidence the company will be making money for a long time.
    - Very diverse work force with almost no prejudices among workers.
    - Love be able to work with fellow employees in Malaysia one day, Phoenix the next and the Czech Republic the next.
    - Fantastic bosses going up at least 3 levels.
    - Honeywell Operating System and other core business process are well thought out and make the whole company more effective.

    Cons

    - NO Raises in 2013.
    - Average Raises less than 3% in 2014
    - CEO and top execs got HUGE Bonuses, Stock Options, Long Term Growth payouts in 2013 and even bigger increases in 2014.
    - Stock value was up around 40% in 2013.
    - Please share the wealth, it is not FAIR.
    - If you could not give us a raise in 2013, how about an extra $1000 in our HSA or 401k plans.
    - How about a $500 holiday bonus

    - Merit Pay increase nine block system is a joke! What a waste of my manager's and my time. The whole system is insulting.
    - Please read what Walter Deming says about these employee evaluation systems.
    - A 1 is great, 2 is really good, but a 3 is bad and a four is really good and 5 is average. Who came up with this? And I hear NO ONE can be ranked a 1, but managers are forced to have people ranked below 5 by HR.

    - HR is non-existence. Never have I heard from them. Any question you have is a vaguely answered by Hewitt, not a Honeywell employee.

    Advice to Management

Share the money! I am getting emails and calls two or three times a week for new jobs. I would love to stay with Honeywell, but getting less than a 3% raise once every two years is not cutting it.

    Pros

Interesting work. I worked with some great people

    Cons

Not quite sure what management is doing. Way too much reorganization. Difficult to form any roots with so much management / group change. Also, the health benefits are not up to par at all.

    Advice to Management

Decide what a direction, and stick to it for a while. I appreciate the "agile" process, but not so much for overall company direction. Please review the health benefits. I understand that is a large topic everywhere, but I would have expected better from a world class organization.
