I have been working at Honeywell full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Interesting products with focus on engineered content.
Good profitability and good long term potential for the company to stay in business which offers security

    Cons

Very quarterly and share holder focused
Not strong at investing in people and process if it incurs a short term cost

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more product focused and less market/finance focused. If you build it, they will come.

I have been working at Honeywell

    Pros

    Nothing good to share here.

    Cons

There is a 9-block PDS quota directed by management and tied to merit increases and MIP.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is too process oriented. Employees are leaving company left and right. People who stay are those that are old and almost at retirement age. Mansgement is too micro focused. They want Yield to be high, but keep on directing new processes which is counter yield produvtive.

Honeywell Turbo Tech: Valuable learning experience but dead environment. I would not want to work at this location.

I worked at Honeywell as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers who would explain things to me, although my boss seemed to get frustrated whenever I didn't know something that he thought I should know.

    Cons

Almost everyone there is at least in their 40's. As a college student I felt a little out of place. The environment is dead. The campus is dead. At times it made me depressed how dull it was there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get more younger people. Get better food. The cafeteria is horrible and better food would have made me much happier.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Fortune 500 company. There is good diversity in the products that Honeywell provides. Honeywell has the potential to be a great company.

    Cons

It is a very toxic environment. People curse each other out. There are no opportunities for advancement. No standard process in place. Very frustrating work environment. The company doesn't take care of their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop watering down the healthcare coverage when you're making over $40B/year! Work of improving the culture of the company. Work on creating standard processes and clear roles and responsibilities. Take care of your employees and they will take care of you.

I worked at Honeywell full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Honeywell provides a great training ground to pick up specialized and broad skills. Many growth opportunities as a new graduate student. When it is time to move on, there are many employers who will be very glad to give you the promotions and monies to hire you.

    Cons

Honeywell has a lot of high performers. The lower 2/3 of the positions turn over, especially as they approach that upper 1/3. The funnel gets very small as you go up and chances to be promoted also reduce dramatically. Honeywell is not the best paying company and after 5 to 10 years, the retirement plan does not grow

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The business model is the business model.

I worked at Honeywell full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

A lot of dedicated and hardworking people around who are over-qualified and work passionately. Good training facilities that offer excellent learning and certification opportunities to take advantage of.

    Cons

Lots of them, the compensation is well below what most other companies in the area would offer. There are a lot of bad managers and only a hand full of good managers, so make sure if you do your homework. Lastly, its a deadend as there is no scope of growth, so unless you like living in LA this is not the place for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dave Cote is a great CEO, great to be a shareholder. Not so great as an employee
