Kowloon (Hong Kong)

Current Employee – been working at Hong Kong Polytechnic as a contractor for more than 7 years

Prosdepends on who are your colleagues and your boss, so far so good (4/5) -- if boss is good, can "argue" and fight for better "benefits"

Cons1. not much chance at promotion, unless get a higher degree :(
2. not much benefits unless perm staff
3. benefits for temp staff (2/5)
4. promotion for temp staff (0/5)

Advice to Senior Management"management" -- boss is academic, lives in ivory tower, doesn't seem to know / understand difficulty of real work

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Kowloon (Hong Kong)

Current Employee – been working at Hong Kong Polytechnic full-time for less than a year

Prosinteresting research topics are available. Excellent office equipment makes paper work no longer a headache

ConsThe promotion perspective is kind of dim. but it really depends on the individual. The positions are relatively competitive; although research industry does need experience, it is in greater need of creativity and innovation, and these qualities are not a privilege of old staffs ----- fresh graduate can perform as good as experienced researcher.
