    Pros

Projects are very interesting. Supervisors are mostly the best in the area. Have real opportunities to get access to all kind of resources.

I have been working at Hong Kong University of Science full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very competent Professors. Usually no issues with funding for overseas trips such as academic conferences.

    Cons

Majority of phd students are from mainland china. Most are highly competitive and boring. Its a very different experience with peers compared to Europe and US. (I have stayed for some time in EU, and the phd students are very interesting compared to what you find in HKUST).
And work life balance? what is life????

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the international exposure. And do something about improving housing conditions. With the small pay a normal phd student is getting, its very tough to find a good living space after people get kicked out from university accommodation.
