Pros
Life is never dull, and that is true at Horizon. The company has an attitude of constant challenge and I like that. Not only does it make the day go faster but you feel that you have accomplished something. Pay is fair. People are terrific. Training on Horizon University gets you prepared to be the customers best choice.
Cons
You get so excited about going to work sometimes you forget to give your family the proper time.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep on Keeping on!
Pros
Stable financially, although the pay is not great. A lot of good people work for this company, but management has their hands tied behind their back.
Cons
The President is non existent. This company was good to work for before the "Pool" regime took over. The corporate , short term perspective is not going to be good for this company long term. Contractors that shopped here forever have started looking for better options.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop thinking "Wall Street" and remember that these are OUR customers and we want them to come back over & over again. The short term thinking about the current quarter is killing a once proud organization.
Pros
Coworkers are great. to work with.
Cons
Low pay. Not much opportunity for advancement. Being owned by a large corporation has taken the "family" feel from a company that used to be great to work for. Every day there is a new program and it usually means even longer hours. Focus has been lost.
Advice to Senior Management
Check out competitive pay for jobs. Upper management is the only place you can make a decent dollar. You ouwld not lose top employees if they were compensated fairly for the owrk expected and given.
Pros
- coworkers are friendly
- possible to get traininng outside of company paid by the company
- when market turns there will be opportunity for new hires
Cons
- short term decisions being made that will affect future sales
- morale is lower than seen in very long time
- no true direction
- no opportunity for advancement or increase in pay
Advice to Senior Management
Find ways to help people advance their careers. Help keep talented individuals by having competitive pay. Make goals attainable. Have different business units understand what each other are doing to allow front line employees to focus on specific goals.
Pros
Its an "OK" place to work for thoughs of us, whom have to suffer at the middle of the pay spectrum. There is no real GREAT reason to work for Horizon. Pay is very low. Co-workers are the only thing that really keep you sane throughout the day. It is just simply an OK place to work. Nothing special at all.
Cons
Very low pay, And they like to claim there is plenty of oppertunities when clearly there is none. Management claims to care about there employess when clearly management only cares about the money flow from there stores to others.
Advice to Senior Management
Employees run the business, Prehaps you should treat them a little better.
