I worked at Hotel Hershey full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Perks for Hershey park tickets and special events
Fun training if you apply for reservations/ front desk positions

    Cons

employee parking is down a steep hill

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The front desk managers were some of the best managers I have ever worked with and I have became good friends with. They are very understanding and reasonable group of managers/ assistant managers.

I worked at Hotel Hershey full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great health benefits. Perks have been reduced year to year but the company still gives employees a set number of free Hershey Park tickets. Employee discount can also be used if purchasing park tickets.

    Cons

Tipped employees are overstaffed making it difficult to earn a living. Management's response is to get another job. If great health benefits are a necessity (terminally ill parent, disabled spouse), inconsistent scheduling makes it nearly impossible to get a second job if you do try to compensate for the lack of income (loss of income during the off season).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help your staff. Allow them to succeed rather than forcing them to fail. Passive-aggressive management creates more than just aggravation for employees who have families to support.

I worked at Hotel Hershey full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great food, union property, great benefits, decent pay, relatively set schedule, great coworkers, meals paid for and you can make some great contacts.

    Cons

Micro-managing, management (some) plays favorites, HR person did little in support of employees, you have to work pretty much all holidays since it's a 24/7 operation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please stop micromanaging and playing favorites. You lose the good people and are left with b- or c-team players.

    I worked at Hotel Hershey

    Pros

Free hershey park tickets after working there after a year makes up for some of the poor pay they offer.

    Cons

Long work hours with little pay, union protects employees that no longer care about their jobs, and if you work in food you are treated lower then dirt.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay employees what they are worth no matter how long they have been with the hotel. reward employees that go above and beyond what there job asks for by giving them a raise.
