I worked at Houston Methodist full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, state of the art medical facility, about to move to another department without issue.

    Cons

Culture at the outlying facilities, very cliche-ish, uptight managers, hard to gain trust, buy in among staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to get along for the sake of the employees or cut those individuals who do not represent the Methodist values of ICARE. Infighting.

I worked at Houston Methodist full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

great food options, everything looks nice on the inside

    Cons

too much favoritism in the transplant center, people who stay there stay because they have nowhere else to go, extroverts are praised and considered to me smarter than introverts although research says opposite, salary does not even equal what competitor transplant centers offer, inappropriate language being used in workplace, nosy coworkers, no sense of privacy, coworker doing homework at work, management doesn't listen to employees until they have had enough and is ready to leave. To sum it up….way too much favoritism here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

This company offers competitive pay for institutions within the Texas Medical Center. Health benefits are great compared to other industries.

    Cons

Lack of opportunities for growth, some department don't work well together but that's to be expected at any company. Parking can be difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider mentoring program or other opportunities for employees to learn additional skill sets.
