    Pros

Wonderful staff and management. They have many incentives with working with this organization. They also pay very well and they also included bonuses. There are many events and actives for staff and their families.

    Cons

The only con i can say there is, is the commute. It is in the Texas Medical Center where parking and driving can be really difficult. But they do have a plan in place but the commute can still be a headache at times.

    Advice to Management

Continue the good work. I really enjoyed working for and with this organization. I was devastated when I had to leave. But I will say if possible when the weather is bad and employees park in the garage is is possible to lower the cost for that day. I do understand the many patients and their families who come to the Medical Center for treatment so I see how this may be difficult. But I would be less of a hassle for the employees.

    Pros

the research institute has quite good environment, postdoc and other lower level researchers are generally nice

very mean leadership, taking advantage of students and postdocs, not supportive professor leadership in research, exploit student's hardwork for their own advancement or job security. Even professors fight among themselves

    Pros

Methodist believes in values and definitely believes in taking Care of their employees. Small bonuses for any reason and always putting patient care first.

    Cons

Managers over their own department don't care about the values that their suppose to uphold within Methodist. Feel they can do and treat you any kind of way if you allow it. (Only speaking of pharmacy)

    Advice to Management

Get continued education in leadership and management to keep up with the values and principles your suppose to have first and foremost when directing and delegating to others.

    Pros

The summer internship program at Houston Methodist Hospital provides interns with training that can be very valuable on a resume. The Six Sigma project, as well as the roundtable discussions with hospital VPs are great learning experiences. Interns get the chance to interact with individuals at high levels of the organization and the lucky ones are involved in day to day operations.

    Cons

Certain interns are unfortunately misplaced with individuals that do not have the time to contribute to their learning and development. It may be the intern's responsibility to seek work elsewhere and may not learn as much about the organization as his/her peers.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that interns have the attention they were promised. Devoting one's summer to an unpaid program should guarantee a minimum level of attention from program organizers. There should also be more follow-up with participants after the program to discuss a potential full-time position.
