The lab manager is a good supervisor and would speak to me when I would sometimes like to be talking and not working.

I have been working at Hoya full-time

    Pros

Work conditions are good, there is available a fully equipped kitchen to serve your meal. Big problem with air conditioning because they don't use it.

    Cons

No career growth opportunities within the company. Low salary and bonuses The management treats employees as if they were worthless goods.

    Advice to Management

Try to change policy regarding staff. There is a CFO that treats employes with lack of respect, and there is no one to talk about it. Not very well prepared, you should test managers as well.

I worked at Hoya full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Typical Japanese culture... highly diversified in multiple business lines. Strong in optics technology. High independence and autonomy by each business unit in running their operation.

    Cons

Deeply rooted in Japanese culture with many of the leadership positions held by Japanese employees, with strong connection to Japan corporate. Heavy emphasis on financial performance (over do), not much on longer term growth strategy.

The company is very receptive to new employees. The provide comprehensive training to new intakes, forming good working relationships from the very beginning.
