    I worked at Hoya as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

    Training was all on-the-job, they have digital lensometers so it was quick to get used to.

    Cons

    The lab manager is a good supervisor and would speak to me when I would sometimes like to be talking and not working.

    With shuttle service
    Yearly bonus and increase

    Work is demanding

    Pros

    The company is very receptive to new employees. The provide comprehensive training to new intakes, forming good working relationships from the very beginning.

    Cons

    The organizational structure is not clearly defined. It came across as if there were a lot of politics involved, making it confusing to many, that a negative image of the management is formed.

    There is mutual respect between most of the employees. Quite a friendly environment.

    Very isolated place in Tuas. Japanese culture not suitable for everyone.
