I worked at Huawei Technologies full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good technical work and if you love telecom domain, outstanding work.
    ECQ test for developers

    Cons

Very employee unfriendly company. You have to punch on machine for attendance at 9 AM failing which you would have to send some mails with reasons and might also loose half day salary. This company treats its employees very badly. The management is very shrewd here and it comes down to low level management. Extreme work pressure and very tough security rules.Internet is not allowed so might find to difficult to get personal things done. .Not a very good place if you don't love the telecom domain. You work here for a year and you could perhaps work anywhere else.

I worked at Huawei Technologies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    * very good technical exposure
    * No limit to the responsibilities you can own (and capable of delivering)
    * Inherent advantage to English speaking guys
    * Lot of customer facing roles, complete ownership.
    * High job stability. You wont lose your job unless there is a violation (security, integrity, conduct etc.) from your end.
    * You get paid more than whats on the paper. Super Bonuses & always >100% pay out of variable salary.
    * Fast growing company. Very aggressive. Can reward high performs with double salary & promotions.

    Cons

    * very restrictive management style & work policies. ( mandatory punching & 45/week, Automatic leave deduction if late to office, No adjustment of policies based on nature of work)
    * Many corporate policies & KPIs does not make any sense ( export of Chinese policies ) , and are implemented rigorously.
    * No career guidance or mentoring or training. Its all about " learning on job".
    * Management style is - command & control. Decision making centralized at HQ.
    * All budget related decisions taken by Chinese Staff. even the director has to take approval from local Chinese assistant for a small cost approval.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please localize the work culture. What works in china wont work everywhere.
