Pros
Hub Group is a very stable company. Upper management has been with the company for a long time and cares very much about the company's continued success. Upper management is very proud of the company's work and wants to see the company grow.
Cons
If you are looking for a young, fun-loving work culture, Hub Group is not the place for you. As a major player in the transportation logistics industry, the corporate culture is somewhat reserved and conservative.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide employees with more feedback and opportunities to try different types of projects. Provide employees with a greater sense of responsibility.
Pros
Young fun staff. Clean professional work environment.
Cons
High turn over. Low advancement opportunity.
Pros
The pay is better than most internships and the assignments given force you to learn quickly on the job. Assignments are also on par with work analysts do.
Cons
Supervisors are always quite busy and there is often a lot of downtime. There is little interaction with supervisors and little feedback given.
Advice to Senior Management
Commit greater resources to the internship program or do not offer it yearly. While I have learned a lot on the job, I feel that I have taught myself.
Pros
Friendly people; friendly environment; knowledge is available, but not everywhere; a lot of managers are very easy going and understanding.
Cons
Upper management is multi-faced. They say one thing, but do another. They do not appreciate tallent as they should. People that are useless and dumb are kept for no reason.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn how to manage. Appreciate your employees for what they do and not what they say or how long they have been with the company. Learn to see the big picture.
Pros
Very fair and very profesional place to work. Good work enviornment and very fair pay and benifits. I have never worked with a better group of people.
Cons
The down side to Hub is that much of their work comes and goes with the awarding of new contracts. The staffing is based on the contract needs.
Advice to Senior Management
I would love to work for this company again in the future if the opportunity should present its self. I enjoyed comming to work here.
Pros
I worked for a division of Hub Group called Unyson Logistics.
Unyson is one of the best in the field in technology and customization of products for clients
The people are phenomenal. One of the best groups of people I have ever worked with.
Cons
Getting a raise is like squeezing blood from a stone
No training program of any kind
Too much office politics and not enough customer focus sometimes
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on developing your people. Create training and development programs. Don't work your staff to the point where they cannot respond to issues in a timely manner. Pay people what they're worth.
Pros
Growth orrientated company that continue to push towards bottom line growth. The majority of managment level employess are carring and concearned about the company and the direction it is taking. The corporate culture is a good one that allows for a strong balance between personal and work life. Hub strives to be beast in calss and treats it's employess as such. I would strongly recomend Hub Group as a place of employment to anyone.
Cons
The comapny remains thin on qualified lower level workers and must put a great dela of responsability and workload on its managemnt staff.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to support its management team and continue to recognize indivduals for strong perforamnce.
