I worked at Hubbell full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The people who work here are dedicated and knowledge due to the long term service. Products and services really are top notch in the electrical market and consistent innovation is the goal from customer service to the top.

    Cons

Being a large corporation with continuous growth through acquisition it can be cumbersome to be promoted. Even after being in line for several promotions, the wait is very long and this can be frustrating. Management likes the to use the phrase it will happen in "Hubbell Time". Pay is not the greatest but also not the best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With the change in CEO I felt like the company is becoming even more bogged down. Make decisions at the top and implement them instead of treading water.

I have been working at Hubbell full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

If you are in management, you have a good deal of autonomy. Depending on where you are located there may be flexible scheduling. Benefits are good but getting more expensive like everywhere else. The company is really growing; many acquisitions. I've been able to hone my skill set for the 9 years I have worked for Hubbell.

    Cons

If things change in your department, the answer is usually you end up working more hours with little appreciation. This is a very top heavy company and top management seems out of touch with the thousands of employees who put the dollars on the bottom line. Also very much a'Good Ole Boys' club. The change in CEO did not change that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I hope leadership comes to realize the need to grow their employees along with the enterprise. If you keep acquiring more companies, you need to hire more people. Top leadership might consider actually talking to the 'Little people' when they visit facilities instead of acting like royality.

I enjoyed it very much. I felt so confident that I moved my family from the west coast to the west coast. No regrets.

    Pros

Not political or beurocratic; growing internationally, maturing quickly as an organization; great benefits; strong, ethical leaders; lots of career growth opportunities.

    Cons

People just don't know about us. Our employment brand needs to be stronger so more people see what a great company Hubbell is to work for.

I have been working at Hubbell full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Stability, relaxed work environment, low stress

    Cons

You'll probably be the only one motivated to work if you are a new hire, management is very week. Team has been with the company for many, many years. Promotion from seniority.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate culture seems to be more important than results, the focus is not on the customer.
