    Pros

Hudson City Savings Bank is a great place to work. The environment is relaxed and the teamwork is great. Absolutely love coming to work everyday.

    Cons

To move up in the industry is totally dependent of length of employmeny. If your a self started you may not move up as fast as you would like.

    Advice to Management

The management team is quite good. They let you do your work and only intervene when they feel they need to.

    Pros

Great working environment. The employer and management were very flexible allowed for a great work/life balance.

    Cons

Promotion based on tenure and not who is most qualified for the job

    Advice to Management

Make the company more appealing for young, educated professionals. I wanted to stay but there was no opportunity for growth.

    Pros

They gave profit share bonuses and a couple of other things for each year you worked. The hours were pretty good.

    Cons

The pay was not very good and they didn't offer a good benefit package. The manager I worked for never should have been in a leadership role.

  10. Great stability, but could use work on management and professionalism.

I worked at Hudson City Bancorp (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good people, balanced lifestyle. Conservative, risk-averse culture.

    Cons

Pretty vanilla workplace, in terms of both employees' skin complexion and intellectual stimulation of the work - little diversity, below average pay, mostly tedious paper pushing. Definitely a "clock-in, clock-out" type of job. It wasn't for me, but if you want a balanced work/family life that emphasizes conservative, Christian values, by all means go for it.

    Advice to Management

Not much to give. One of the best managed banks of any size in the country.
