I had with a very nice experience as a part-time.

ProsThe hours are the best in banking. during the week they close at 4:00 PM and in Saturdays they close at 1:00PM. They also provide the full-timers with the opportunity of receiving college credits paid by them. They also pay for their employees medical coverage in full.

ConsTheir salaries are lower than in other banks. They do not pay over-time to their full-timers. Two years ago they were sold to another bank, so right now everything is pretty much in the air until they finally take over.

Advice to Senior ManagementNext time there is a hurricane, and some of the branches are without any power, they should think a little more of their employees welfare, and not have them come in to the branches just to hang-out in the dark, without heat, electricity or the alarm system not working, just so the customers could see that everyone was there. This at the end was worst, because they became very discontent when the entire staff present couldn´t even take a deposit, never mind cash for them a check without computers and a closed vault.

Great place to work - at the branch level

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsI left HCSB four years ago, but when I was there, it was a lovely place to work - great coworkers and an amazing branch manager. It was really good to not have that pressure to have to sell anything, as you would in a commercial bank; made for a very collegial environment.

ConsThe upper management (above branch level) never seemed to fully have it together. I hear HCSB has been bought out - glad I won't be there for the massive confusion that will likely ensue!
