I worked at Hudson Global full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the people I worked with were nice

    Cons

    Where do I begin...
    Disorganized
No clear vision from management or direct managers
    Untouchable senior management
    Horrible recruitment practices
    Shady
manipulate people into thinking their job is secure and it's not
    Liars
    High turnover
No career development plan at all
    EVERYTHING is in shambles there
People are poorly matched to roles
They let the good people go

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen when your employees talk to you. There are so many issues that need to be addressed and they have fallen upon deaf ears. Stop making things about money and get back to what matters most. The company is crumbling fast and you know it. Stop praising those who don't work. Pay attention to those who are.

Demanding after taking on additional responsibilities following staff cuts

I have been working at Hudson Global full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Worked with some really good people.

    Cons

Worked with some not so good people. Sometimes I wondered how these people got hired here. They did the minimum work possible. One person "worked from home" but really didn't because you can never get hold of her but she got away with it and no one really said anything. It wasn't fair when some people really worked hard.

If the going gets tough, the consultant stands alone

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Hudson Global as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Agile, responsive and fast in an effort to secure a project with its own consultant - which is what a consultant wants and needs. Also, warm, friendly and frequent contact - all for one, one for all - as efforts are made to successfully secure its contract resources for client's project.

    Cons

This experience might not be representative. (I hope it isn't.) Hudson disappeared as soon project began. Hudson resurfaced somewhere around the midway point to say, literally, didn't realize you were still on that project. Then, toward the end when the going got tough (ie deadlines impacted by both the consultant & the client) Hudson was very-very present again. My sense is that Hudson automatically flipped into a sort of Bad Consultant Response Team mode. Punishing - offering client your significantly reduced (+25%) hourly rate beginning immediately. I'm always concerned when I see a professional being driven by emotion, asking very few questions, responding very emotionally to the honest answers. I thought about throwing up my hands - mea culpa, mea culpa - and walking away, but, it was such a good client. (This too shall pass became my mantra.) In hindsight, what I should've done is worked both on and off the books for the duration of the contract. And, I suppose, kept my mouth very tightly shut about that fact.

    Pros

    I can't think of any

    Cons

Leadership does not understand RPO or how to service the client
No formal system for reviews or increases for contractors
Lack of vision for the future
Over-emphasis placed on director level and above
Leadership is arrogant and acts like they are untouchable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Implement 360 reviews
Look into the Chicago office as they have actionable employment practices
Directors on RPO are not listening to their clients or recruiters

I worked at Hudson Global as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company provides flexible hours and schedules. There are employer contributions to 401(k). There is an opportunity for flex accounts for transportation, medical and child care.

    Cons

The jobs are temporary and often short term. There are no sick day benefits or vacation pay. There are only 5 paid holidays and these can only be earned after extensive hours with the company.

I have been working at Hudson Global

    Pros

The benefits and payroll people are helpful.

    Cons

I never hear from the recruiters and sales people. I don't think they would be able to place me in another contract if the current contract runs out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on providing quality people to the client and less on trying to compete on cost.
