    Pros

They had sessions on different technologies for us to learn beyond our main project. It is famous for its cafeteria...lunch is very good there.

    Cons

They don't hire the intern unless, they are exceptionally good or have a strong reference.

I have been working at Hughes Systique full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

All the pros that this company had are gone. The management has changed everything. All the employee friendly policies have been replaced by the company with the ones which benefit the company itself. "FREE LUNCH" is the only PROS left.

    Cons

-> No growth ->Inverted triangle structure where the managers and directors are much more than the actual engineers and senior engineers. -> Poor and selfish management

    Advice to Management

Try to retain your old employees by showing them that you care. Right now the attitude of the management which comes across is "WE DONT CARE".

I worked at Hughes Systique full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great learning environment overall, especially if mentored under the right type of person (this factor is critical especially if employed in its India office - most US-based Hughes Systique and Hughes Networks Systems employees - techies or managers - are truly world-class). Great working environment in some projects and groups - the good managers and leads are truly awesome!!!

    Cons

Extremely top-heavy org structure - about 40% employees have a 'manager' tag, and about 20% of all employees have corner offices. Number of total employees has remained stagnant over the last 5 years or so - a BIG negative for an aspiring IT Services major. Business acumen of some (not all) of the senior management folks is questionable. House of Extremes - the bad managers can be pathetic at best, horrendous at worst. Sycophantic culture has permeated some parts of the company. Generally considered to be a retirement resort for all senior management types (most of whom have been peers from Hughes Software Systems/Flextronics Software Systems/Aricent). Your chances of vertical growth beyond Senior Principal Engineer/Engineer Manager are next to nil if you are not of the right pedigree (read: an Aricent/HNS/HSS/FSS alumnus).

    Advice to Management

Spread your wings and look for opportunities outside your own comfort zone. And please get the yoke of sycophancy off your back - It ain't befitting your class.

    Advice to Management

Should work on expansion of company in all horizon...

I worked at Hughes Systique full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Approachable higher management, flex timings, free lunch, good company for people with less experience

    Cons

After 6+ years of experience not much potential to grow as the 40% of the company is engineering manager and above. Except a couple of projects, works on proprietary technology. Wouldn't get recognition if do not work for certain directors who have a stronghold in the company. Exit interviews are skipped for lot of people (and I know this for sure as I was not interviewed citing HR workload).

    Advice to Management

You can always get a replacement in market but that doesn't mean an employee does not have a value.
