Pros
Great pay, Good amount of paid time off, Nice co-workers, clean offices, safe offices to work in, Lots of jobs to apply for.
Cons
You do not get promotions based on work, you get them based on who you know. Several people have been passed for promotions that really deserved them. Also, the benefits are horrible. The insurance associates have is worse than what anyone can buy off the street. High deductibles make it hard to go to the doctor when needed.
Advice to Senior Management
Review ALL directors running the service centers. Not all are there for the good of the people and only think about what is good for them.
Pros
Challenging environment, Great 401K benefit, good coworkers,
Cons
poor health coverage, size of company means everyone is spread out and you are on conference calls a lot
Advice to Senior Management
hire me back
Pros
Earning potential and advancement opportunities are excellent
Cons
Income is reliant on the quality of value proposition that each agent is able to offer in his/her select counties. Value proposition is subject to change annually.
Advice to Senior Management
Weed out the boat anchors that have found their way into middle management.
Pros
Humana can become family and they pay can be great until you max out as they say. We don't max out the amount we contribute so pay shouldn't max out. The bonus the last two years as been great and has been all some senior employees have received.
Cons
Max out on not enough respect for the years and work from some emplyees. Too many people hired from outside. Associates are working hard and long trying to finish there education but are passed over for outside people.
Advice to Senior Management
Look more inside for the talent that has helped the company grow and be profitable.
Pros
One of largest employers in Louisville, Kentucky. A good corporate citizen through sponsorship of arts. Made a deal with city for free bus service for employees.
Cons
Treated salaried employees like hourly. PMO office Senior Management took a "my way or the highway" approach to any suggestion from employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Clear out senior management in PMO office and replace with modern thinkers. Hire more senior IT project managers and stop taking kids straight out of school with no business experience.
Pros
the sales compensation was competitive, benefits were good, local leadership was good. Most of the employees are true contributors to the team. Training and learning opportunities are abundant.
Cons
management is not always in touch with reality as it relates to their specific markets. goal setting is done at the cororate level and market trends are not always considered when making goal adjustments.
Advice to Senior Management
Get the products and processes right before you roll the products out to the marketplace. Brokers do not want to be the first ones to sell something that is not tested and proven. when the few risk taking brokers DO go out on a limb to sell the products, give them the support they need with the process fails and they look stupid in front of their clients.
Pros
-Flexible schedules
-Benefit packages
-Wellness incentives
-Onsite health clinics
-Resources
-Cutting edge of technology
Cons
-Hard to take PTO
-Salary was low compared to market standard
-Little interaction with leadership unless negative feedback
Advice to Senior Management
Appreciate your people more and let them take time off. You give us 4 weeks PTO and we aren't allowed to use it unless we call in sick.
Pros
Growth Opportunities; Engagement; Family environment;
Cons
Fast paced at times, Autocratic leadership in some areas,
Advice to Senior Management
Work as a team.
Pros
Tools for learning, 401k match, training, growth opportunity, professional development, vacation allowance, employee value, average pay, excellent work environment, good mesh with co-workers
Cons
Medical benefits could be a bit better, but they are getting worse everywhere. Spread throughout the country, so to move up, it may require a move
Pros
Fliexible schedule, operated primarily on my own. No "clock punching", everything was based on my performance and value, not the hours I worked.
Cons
Too corporate. They are a very large, slow moving company. Software changes go through an unreal process and new software development changes are not implemented by the development team, but by an implementation team who has no idea about the software.
