Pros
Flexible working hours, can easily transfer to other departments. Diverse working environment with an emphasis on technology.
Cons
Very hard to tell business hierarchy structure. There are managers directing other managers with the same exact title.
Advice to Senior Management
Need more transparency with Hierarchy business structure.
Pros
Pay is equal to what others have offered
Cons
Management manipulates associates into negative outcomes.
Advice to Senior Management
Actions speak louder than words, quit preaching and start doing.
Pros
People are friendly and helpful. Associates in all offices seemed to always be willing to help. Downtown Louisville facilities are state of the art. Lots of corporate discounts.
Cons
Associates are not appreciated or recognized all the time. Front line managers are poor leaders, and like to micromanage. Poor health care benefits offered to associates.
Advice to Senior Management
Provider more training and support to front line leadership. Offer more incentives. Do a better job developing associates. Promote competent leaders that challenge their leaders and are just not "yes, sir" types.
Pros
Company is working to allow people to take more responsibilities with their health
Great people to work with
Atmosphere is team-oriented with lots of opportunity to work on independent projects
Management recognizes associates for their efforts
Cons
Initially not clear on what the whole job role will entail
Very process-driven, can take away from efficiency
Advice to Senior Management
It would be great to have known what the whole job title would have entailed and potentially what areas of Humana employees would need to support; It is vague and disconcerting for employees to know they will be in a supporting role without a specific timeframe for when it will end.
Pros
Very focused on both the employee and the customer.
Committed to becoming the best company in the business
Forward thinking management
Good Compensation and benefits.
Cons
The company although the fifth largest payor in the country is stil going through some growing pains from a regional to a national carrier.
Constant new projects to get done compete with each other so everything is a "priority" But then again, most companies are like that.
Advice to Senior Management
There is a lot of communication to the employees, more so than any other company I've worked for. But there must be even more communicated to offices outside of headquaters as to strategy and where the company wants to go and how we can help to get there.
Pros
Humana cares about individual associates and recognizes each one's talent(s).
Cons
Comparing salaries to other similar companies, can be discouraging to some prospects.
Pros
-A flexible work schedule
-Friendly people with diverse backgrounds
-Dedicated senior leadership who support your initiatives
-A well positioned company focused on future growth opportunities.
Cons
- HR Senior Leader is old school
-A very hierarchical organizational model
-Its not always what you know, but who you know.
Advice to Senior Management
Our Sr. HR Leader has a superiority complex that is detrimental to the business and associate moral. She drives a hierarchical organizational model that is outdated and sure to be a significant factor impacting associate productivity. She needs to pack her bags and a new fresh perspective take the lead role from outside HR.
Pros
pay excellent..never had to struggle since being there. great open door policy with upper managment.timpe off excellent. youre basically self employed
Cons
lack of recognition, lack of communication from supervisors and upper management, politics..all about who you know and how good you are with them to be put on special projects or to move up.
Advice to Senior Management
give more recognition to your associates..they are the route of your business. share what changes will come before they change..so everything isnt a surprise. If youre quilified for a upper management position you should chosen for the job...not because my manager likes me.
Pros
Large organization with career pops in a variety of departments, health & wellness focus
Cons
No career pathing, minimal raises, large pay bands with little to no process around performance reviews and promotions, a kind of stuffy culture at corporate, little openess to diverse leadership (the little that exists)
Advice to Senior Management
Don't bring in young, top talent and put them on the shelf
Pros
Humana is a great place to work. It is for those who have a great work ethic and a desire to earn money. There are many regulations that need to be followed but that protects not only the consumer but the company and employees as well.
Cons
I wish that there were more opportunities to have training during the down season
