    Pros

Interdepartmental collaboration keeps employees engaged and aware of college initiatives.
Great learning environment through committee and working group participation.
    Excellent support from staff.
    Innovative practices.
    Emphasis on student success.

Employees should be offered permanent positions following successful completion of Support/Administration/Appendix D/Internship contracts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to emphasize Humber's polytechnic model and offer employee success stories. Frequently visit departments .

I have been working at Humber College part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

One of the pros is that the pay is higher than minimum wage and considering that the work is so simple its almost unfair to the employer whom of which is great ! She is always upbeat and laughing but helpful and serious when needed. Definitely the most accommodating place I have ever worked in terms of scheduling and always opportunity to continue working even after the contract is up. One of the best things is that if you do great and continue throughout the academic year into the summer, they extend your contract as long as you are going to be there the following year.

    Cons

I don't quite see many cons, I guess the only thing is that as a Receptionist there is a low of repetitive movements (I spent an entire shift putting cards in envelopes...easy but mentally draining) other than that, nothing at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Honestly, nothing. Management is great !

I worked at Humber College as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

You will gain experience and knowledge of how the education industry is run on a daily basis and some knowledge of how web applications work. Not the best setting to gain Server experience as this place is locked down.

    Cons

No career advancement b/c it's only temporary work and they bring in candidates during the college start dates in Aug-Sept and Dec-Jan.
