I worked at Huntington Hospital full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Intelligent, high caliber colleagues. Good, transparent leadership. Opportunities for career growth.

    Cons

Compensation generally considered on the low-end, in comparison to cost of living in this area. Understaffed on occasion.

  6. I worked at Huntington Hospital

    Pros

Nursing staff very helpful and work well as a team.

    Cons

Changes in management in dietary department but yet no accountability for poor performing staff/low productivity and bad attitudes among dietary staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to work with bad attitudes in a dietary department: you will enjoy this place. Dietitians are rude and crabby and should retire! No one else will hire them so they can never leave.

I have been working at Huntington Hospital full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I love working at Huntington. The facility is huge and clean. We have ancillary staff such as RTs, EMTs, phlebotomists, and EKG techs to help us in our busy trauma ER.

    Cons

My complaint is that Huntington pays very low. We are currently non union and our salaries seem to be quite a bit below the median rate for this area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay, pay pay! We need to be paid what RNs deserve!

I worked at Huntington Hospital full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Professional Confident Staff . Second to none. I would take my parents there in a Emergency. Dictors Nurses and Ancillary Departments work ad a team.

    Cons

Always understaffed. No management support to improve conditions. Too many supervisors. Overworkef and extremely underpaid compared to hospitals of the same size.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less is more. Less Supervisors equals more patient care staff equals more revenue equals better compensation to staff. Improves employee morale which trickles down to happier employees to happier patients. More staff improves the patient care experience to an optimum.

    I worked at Huntington Hospital

    Pros

The staff is friendly. There is a good sized volunteer department. Physicians are friendly (most, not all). Nice looking building.

    Cons

There is no room for growth. Management lacks encouragement for staff. Boring place to work. Management seems to constantly look for errors rather than recognition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please, re-assess yourselves and your hard-working staff.

I have been working at Huntington Hospital full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

pay rate, reasonable patient load, school reimbursement, fun caring environment with great people, great atmosphere.

    Cons

time off can be a hassle make sure you ask for it first without assuming, managers agree to giving vacations to staff at same time, some times you can be understaffed, job itself can be demanding and stressful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

upper management is very unfair...can be black listed from switching positions.
