Pros – Corporate structured
Renovation of Hotel Rooms
Decent Christmas bonuses for Admin Personnel
Promising future for the continuation of the Hotel

Cons – Corporate structured
Long time between monetary raises (No COLA)
Not enough communication from Upper Management
Employees unsure of their future employment

Advice to Senior Management – Share more information with Hotel/Restaurant/Spa employees so they know what's going on with their employment and are not afraid of losing their jobs. Avoid having items written in the newspapers that dismay employees.

I have been working at Huntington Hotel

Pros – Nice ambiance, non corporate atmosphere, friendly co workers, small business feel, good location, good reputation, good benefits, competitive pay, nice park across the street.

Cons – Union, many employees have parked there for years doing the minimum necessary to get by, non motivating upper level management who does not interact very much with staff or stay current with hotel or management trends. Stuck in years of history and ways of doing things.

Advice to Senior Management – Get out of your office half an hour every day and circulate with all your staff (even room cleaners), learning, motivating, thanking. Blow off the cobwebs and shake things up, it's not the 1990's anymore. Challenge yourself to learn something new and to do a better job leading by example.
