    Pros

The people are outstanding- very smart and collaborative. Leadership is very transparent and open. Big focus on work life balance and good communication.

    Cons

Travel can be full time (mon-thurs) depending on role.

    Pros

    Unlimited vacation
    Travel bonuses
Intelligent workers and a great company culture - everyone they hire is vetted to be less "consultant" and more a normal person you want to grab a drink with
Easy access to directors and above

    Cons

-If you don't land on the right project with the right upper level consultants, you won't get promoted. Project placement and promotion is very much based on who you are friends with.
-Expect a lot of internal work on top of being staffed full time
-M-Th travel every week, if you are an analyst/associate and ask for a remote week, upper level management laughs in your face - they paid their dues, so you should to

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the boys club that exists in upper management and it will help open your eyes to great consultants who may not drink with you, but will get their work done.
Also, allow for remote time - you will continue to lose great people due to burn out because you're not giving them a break!

    Pros

Hiring was easy and not stressed. I interviewed with Bain, McK, Accenture Strategy after grad school. This was by far the easiest interview.

    Cons

Your colleagues. I like to work with high aptitude strong performers. Management here just is not that bright and their lack of creativity and intelligence is palpable. Anyone who has ability will not stay at Huron. It's a wasteland for the mediocre trying to convince each other how skilled they are - honestly it's like playing against the B team constantly. You aren't going to better yourself professionally here.

    Pros

Healthcare consulting is a great potential career and there is always change going on. Travel is great if you like that sort of thing

    Cons

Very few learning opportunities, doesn't allow people to move between groups (even though hiring claims you can), pays very less as per company standards, no clear path for career, weak leadership (where are the MBAs?), and works people to the point of burn out. If you are looking for a consulting group to join, look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Don't just implement the same solution time and time again...clients want something truly customized like they can get from Deloitte and Bain. Also distribute the work load more so that employees don't just leave. The smart ones leave this company before they are even promoted and join competitors like Deloitte.

    Pros

Weekly Remote Training, Benefits for 401k Match, Can live anywhere in the US, Pleasant Hiring Experience.

    Cons

Overdemaing Managers, No Worklife Balance, As a former Deloitte (6 years)- I personally didn't last more than 4 moths here. If you have a family, it would be difficult to make it here.

    Advice to Management

Stress on Work life Balance. Traveling to clients is understood, but requiring to work while at home too will cause employees to burn out quickly. Manage the projects more effectively, therefore the hours are reasonable.

  7. No mentor ship or learning; fake it til you make it mentality

    Pros

    - getting more well known
    - some cool people
    - resources of a large firm
    - good benefits and total rewards package, 401k etc

    Cons

    - no mentor ship or learning. Project are 1-2 people and you are just told to go "do" something. Very different than other consulting firms I have worked for.
    - low pay below industry, way below, insulting bonus of 2-3% when promised much higher during recruiting / offer
    - inappropriate
    - very segmented company. You never meet or see people outside your work group
    - more temp staffing than consulting in many cases.

    Pros

Benefits and Compensation are good and inline with job requirements

    Cons

Management is fraught with problems. Entirely to much nepotism and advancement is meted out based on who you know and how much you are willing to boot lick. Promotion is given on the basis of who your drinking buddies are.

    Advice to Management

Look hard at the EPM group and clean out the nepotism and despots.

    Pros

You'll get meaningful work to do eventually
    Great hands-on implementation coaching experience

    Cons

Monday-Thursday travel every week is brutal
Analysts and associates do almost all of the work
    Coaching can definitely be lacking
Young folks probably can't go from new-hire to manager in less than 6 years. That's a long time to live on the road.

    Advice to Management

retaining organic, skillful managers should be a top priority.
