I have been working at Hussmann full-time

    Pros

Three weeks of vacation to start, great amount of holiday's, good health insurance, good salaries.

    Cons

Stormy environment in terms of job security, not very good at communicating information to employees, and thinly stretched employees due to so many cuts in staff.

    Advice to Management

A clear cut honest plan for the direction of the company so that people can understand where the company is heading, in order to boost the moral of the employees.

    Pros

Great Benefits. Some really hard workers.

    Cons

Morale is horrible. Cut in hours, more work. Too much micro-managing. Some workers getting less work and others getting more than they can handle and no rewards. Layoff has already happened and people are quitting left and right due to extreme expectations.

    Advice to Management

Boost Morale. Pay attention to your dependable workers. Your management may not always tell you the truth. Look at the numbers and facts and not words. Spread the work more fairly. Do not discriminate and give one less work and set them up for chit chat just because they knew higher management before. Higher managers, get to know your employees. Have them fill out a survey. Some really care about your customers and are treated unfairly. If you put more trust in your employees, you would be surprised at what they will accomplish for you. At this point some feel that they cannot please you. You have management calling their employees names to others.

I have been working at Hussmann full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nothing really that are pros working here besides Benefits and Union.

    Cons

Supervisors are unappreciative , higher management takes advantage of there employees, supervisors expect everyone to kiss there butt if not you get treated unfairly, nothing there is organized, all departments are behind. They tell you when you get hired you work OT occasionally but it ends up being every weekend, never have a set schedule one day you can come in at a certain time and the next day it can be completely different which can interfere with anything you have going on in your personal life.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to run departments better, do your job correctly, the company is behind because no one can figure out how to communicate, stop taking in work the you know the plant can't finish all its going to do is make customers realize the company is unreliable and the company's going to lose even more customers in the future.

Ohhh Im sure they will be gone shortly, the company is getting ready to be sold

    Pros

Friendly social co-workers .Multicultural workforce with many employees having spent most of their career here . Fairly easygoing workplace with decent pay and benefits. Company has seen a lot of growth over past couple years. People from lower positions can be promoted from within.

    Cons

Some health and 401k benefits are being reduced. Seems to be going through some growing pains with issues managing projects/new initiatives .

    Pros

Decent starting pay. Exciting at first because you think the opportunities are real.

    Cons

Management makes promises they do not intend to keep. Motto is "be happy you have job" Give employees too much work because they don't want to hire more.

    Advice to Management

None. If I did have advice, they would not take it or even consider it. Do not rock the boat at this company.
