    Retired happily

Director Security (CSO) (Former Employee) Toronto, ON (Canada)

ProsSalary and benefits were the main reasons coupled with regular bonuses made being paid for what you did an important reason to stay.

ConsThere were not many cons other than the organization itself had for 15 years a hard time understanding the correct reporting relationship for security.

    Avoid if you can

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsVery good compensation, way better than industry standards.

ConsHorrible office politics. Very hard to work. Some incompetent management and consultants with strong strings and forever engagements.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay more attention on ability to deliver and qualification of lower management. Don't hire more new unqualified guys. Follow your own corporate rule and fire "old" useless contractors.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pretty good company to work for.

Engineer (Former Employee) Toronto, ON (Canada)

ProsGood job security, decent salary and benefits. Nice people and management. Good training for new employees, possible career development but somewhat difficult as is more seniority based.

ConsSomewhat slow work place, lots of standards and practices in place make innovation and new ideas difficult. Kind of old school company with older management practices.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to be more empathetic with employees.

Depends if you are in the union

IT (Former Employee) Toronto, ON (Canada)

ProsGreat company to work for if you are a union employee. Great benefits, salary increases, job security, and vacation.

ConsNo incentive to work or move into management here. Management gets less benefits, vacation, and possibly less pay then its employee's. Salaries are frozen and things are not getting better. Under performing union employees are protected by their unions.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide more incentives for management. Union gets way more and has job protection/security.

Many layers to the hierarchy, experience depends on which group you work for.

Analyst (Current Employee) Toronto, ON (Canada)

ProsHigh pay, good benefits, focus on safety and employee well-being. Provides lots of opportunities to apprentices/co-op students, allowing for growth in our younger work force.

ConsHierarchical, constant changes to management, upward mobility is limited depending on who you know and not what you know.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on employee skills rather than their relationship with upper management when it comes to promotions/upward mobility.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
