I worked at Hyflux full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You can learn a lot of things especially if you involve in site work.
Able to see a lot of things if you are a fresh graduate looking to "learn from the worst"
If you are lucky enough to be based in HQ - Hyflux Innovation Centre that will be great! Nice gym, good environment and nice pantry

    Cons

    - You may learn a lot but be prepared to get your hands dirty as you will need to multitask doing all the hands on job just because of a bad management system. (Like doing what the workers do as an engineer)
    - Policies are very unfair, involve in projects without allowance and there goes all your extra expenses in transportation and food
    - There is no balance of work and family in this company. Be prepared to not see your love ones for at least 6 months as you need to work 18 hours a day at least, 7 days a week during the "crucial" time of a project which a project is always in crucial moment because of bad management. (with no extra allowance)
    - Take care of yourself if you are just a worker. Because if you are at site and you get sick or even deadly sick, they will not bother unless you are some HOD or the Director.
    - Very high turn over due to dissatisfaction of employees.
    - Basic necessity will be not available at site for a day and you might need to borrow toilet walking a kilometer away from another company's office. Due to bad management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Try not to save that small amount of allowance. If you want people to work OT happily and feel worth while of sacrificing his family time please at least show your appreciation by giving that little amount of allowance every month!
    - When you said you will improve site condition, please do so! Having some chemical work beside the canteen area is not doing any good.
    - Treat your employee better if you want to improve your management. That is the first step.

    - Support is given for career and personal development
    - relatively young workforce, easy to work with.

    Cons

    - Top-down management style, sometimes can add to delays in projects.
    - Too much micro-management also add delays to getting approvals etc.

    Cons

Very top down approach management style. High staff turnover rate.

I worked at Hyflux (more than an year)

    Pros

Fast paced company. Once you start working here everywhere else seems slow.

    Cons

Politics. There are no cooperation among all the departments. Senior management aims to kill one another and sometimes one or two employees are sacrificed.

Company will follow Singapore's government policies if it helps to save money but when it comes to rewarding employees the company will save every single cent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Transparency. Open communication. Improve benefits.

    Cons
