Pros
The company is very laid back and the work enviorment is comfortable. There is an open door/first name policy across the company.
Cons
Moving up in the company seems to depend on who you are buddies with and wether or not you can talk the talk. It seems to be difficult to get recognition for what work you do.
Advice to Senior Management
Please give employees more recognition and include them in changes which the company is making. People feel important when they are informed and will work harder for the company when they feel they are a true key player.
Pros
Many different specialty within the facility to grow into, employee friendly environment.
Cons
Lacks latest technology as well as new looks at certain facilities.
Advice to Senior Management
You got to come up with better way of communication!
Pros
Salary levels for nursing and support staff seem to be at the upper range of average in AZ. Most RN staff members are friendly and team-oriented, peer support is great.
Cons
MCMV administration turns a blind eye to the unbelieveable practices of the unit directors. Every activity of the facility is profit driven, not patient or employee. Directors point fingers and spend more time playing the blame game than trying to support their subordinates.
Advice to Senior Management
IASIS Corporate needs to take a long look at MVMC and realize that the issues with RN retention, patient satisfaction and profits are failing because of the current administration, not the employees' poor performance. There will never be any patient or employee satisfaction improvement with leadership through intimidation.
Pros
The Corporate Compliance Director is excellent.
Cons
The worst nurse:patient ratios I have ever seen. Numerous errors, and patient falls.
If you like a daily "beating", work here.
The most dysfunctionally run hospital I've worked at.
Advice to Senior Management
Get more staff to take care of patients. Manage with positive feedback. Take accountability for the nurse: patient ratios, and ensure staffing is done using the appropriate patient acuity tools required.
Pros
Flexibility and scheduling opportunities are great.
Cons
Poor management and lack of educational opportunities are a problem at Iasis. There also tends to be a lack of concern for what is a safe nurse- patient ratio.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to focus more on the needs of nurses to increase retention.
