I have been working at IBI Group full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Company is making positive changes. I have great benefits with a good portion paid by the employer which helps. We have a 401(k) Plan which we are encouraged to join. I feel really encouraged that the firm is on the right track for growth. I work with great people at all levels.

    Cons

I don't have cons to give. I feel lucky to work for this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mentor your employees as though they're going to take your place one day.

I have been working at IBI Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

flexible, friendly. will allow for flexible schedule some what. There is a large gap between the management and anything below the PM level. Corporate management is trying to re brand its efforts.. good benefits.

    Cons

poor projects, poor design canon. open office has a lot of issues regarding work flow. The main sector of practice of the firm are completely disassociated with one another. Lack of focus at a local office level. If you are not a PM you don't have a title, this makes it very difficult if not impossible to move up. there is no room to move up, too many chiefs not enough workers. They expect you to work extra for no pay, no bonus. Look out for their poor project management, will always go over budget and work you extra hard. There is no basic office standards for document creation. Each PM uses their own format, software, system. (they are working to fix this but seems very slow). Great place for planners and engineers, not for architecture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

provide job titles with respective salaries. Bring, creative talent, get rid of old webs and PMs that cannot adapt.

I have been working at IBI Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Some interesting projects. Great coworkers.

    Cons

Project managers are accountants. Corporate bureaucracy gets in the way of good design and service. No advancement criteria. Minimal benefits. Not organized as one office - it is a collection of offices, many acquired with very little assimilation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on design and projects, not so much on dollars and cents. Share more with employees. Set up advancement criteria.

    Cons

(veeverything from upper management to department heads, group leaders and regular employees. it is very hostile workplace from the outside world it seems very professional and it it might be in other offices but Michigan office is the worst workplace i ever worked in. lots of people hate other people, way too much politics, there is no management, people always complaining more and working less, no standards, no training, no management, no order, every single one is the problem not just management or workers

I have been working at IBI Group as an intern

    Pros

Every one really cheers each other on. There's not any of the typical negative office politics. No one gets thrown under a bus. They help each other out and work like a team. It is a true family. They care about each other and value family. It is a fun and humorous work environment. I've worked as an intern and have been very blessed to work with the most talented designers. They are always willing to help and collaborate well with the entire office.

    Cons

I wish they had more work on their plate. This is such a special place that values family and that is rare in the corporate world.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

What you do is amazing. Working for a firm that values family is the most amazing aspect. I hope that as you grow your values stay the same.

I worked at IBI Group full-time

    Pros

They have big projects and are worldwide.

    Cons

It is unlikely you will ever meet upper management and they control your destiny. IBI Group does not give bonuses in good years....it all goes to stockholders which include upper management. It is hard to move up. They have many offices but the offices don't really work together in fact they compete with each other because of their business model.

    Opportunities
    Challenges
    Software
    Goal oriented office

    Cons

Sometimes people who are not doing their work are just left alone...instead they need to be challenged, or let go so people who want to work can work.
