I have been working at IBM

    Pros

This is a very good company, especially in developing their employee. IBM has a very good training program, starting from new hire until management level.
In term of benefit, it is moderate, compared to other multinational company in Indonesia.

    Cons

The salary increase is very impacting by company performance. The last three year, IT market was going down, so some employee did not get salary increment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep good talent and always care to the senior employee. Never cut training budget.

I have been working at IBM full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Strong brand, flexible working hours, great working environment, people are excellent, good medical benefits for people with family, flexible time-off policies, challenging projects in big customers, abundant online resources for self learning purpose

    Cons

Limited training/development opportunities due to cost cutting (IBM is trying to compensate this by providing abundant online technical resources for self learning purpose however most of the time the depth of the material is lacking if used in real life project), lack of transparency in criteria for promotion to higher band and position, a lots of approval sometimes can affect flexibility, most of the time career aspiration is difficult to accommodate due to business situation, many talented people leave this company, resources are very limited thus affect availability to work on customer projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More transparent in promotion criteria, more training/development opportunities to IT services quality to customers, try hard to accommodate employees career aspiration since it is probably the most effective way to retain talents
