I have been working at ICICI Bank UK PLC
Pros – Small organization so often works in the style of a guerilla startup. Plenty of scope to grow within the organization in terms of designation.
Cons – Still working like a guerilla startup despite being in the country for close to 10 years. Promotions mean only extra work and no increase in salaries! Very poor business model and very poor senior management. Typical work day starts at 10 in the morning and ends at 8 or 9 in the night.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to build focus in business and style of management. Need to value the time, effort and abilities of employees more.

I have been working at ICICI Bank UK PLC
Pros – It used to give unmatched responsibilities and job profile very early in career. It promoted entrepreneurial spirit in every employee - the ability to venture into new products was promoted. However nothing happens now and unless the management does a rethink, ICICI UK wont last long
Cons – 1. The lowest salary for every job profile. The bank brings employees from India on 22 months visa and in this period there is no UK tax. Only in this period is the take away salary an average of market salary. Thereafter salary drops by almost 25% - almost all these employees are paid the lowest rate in the market. The HR still does not clearly mention this catch when transfering or hiring people from India! Local hires too are paid much lower than average salary. The policy is to hire the most desperate person at the lowest salary and without guilt.
2. Very poor communication between departments - replying to mails or complying to mail request is unheard of. The key to getting intra department work done is only pestering.
3. Horrible work culture - Day starts at 5 in the evening. Managers generally have the tendency to give work in the evening so late nights are standard. Therefore most employees dont come till 10.30-11. The employee has to leave after his manager and he in turn his - so the condition of the poor chap at the bottom of the hierarchy can be imagined
4. Very very hierarchical organisation - Employees first read the designation of the sender in emails before deciding to reply to emails or to do the work requested.
5. HR is the king and not the business group. Cheating employees without guilt is the norm
Advice to Senior Management – No point telling - employees either too afraid to speak up or just given up and looking at opportunities to move out. Have some sustainable strategy which can be implemented and keep that strategy for at least a year. Dont live just for a quarter and dont be afraid to speak up to your managers - they are need to be told the plight at the bottom

I worked at ICICI Bank UK PLC
Pros – Exposure to a lot of products not allowed regulatorily in India, opportunity to deal with peers in foreign banks and experience life in a new country
Cons – Pathetic compensation pacakge, it actually goes down after 2 years if you have moved from India. Company tries to save costs everywhere. Very poor systems and processes, hierarchical, need lot of permissions
Advice to Senior Management – Pay as per the market and try to retain people. Invest in systems and processes. Improve the name of ICICI Bank in the London market. Don't just try to make money from Indian people and companies
