Current Employee – been working at ICU Medical full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – You have the freedom to do your job and get results without being micromanaged. You are judged by the results you achieve, not by how some mid level supervisor thinks you've done. Great environment for someone who knows what they want and knows how to do a good job without constant supervision. Very little politics. Work hard play hard kind of environment.
Cons – Could use more formal training for some aspects of the job and the clinical education for reps could be beefed up, but the tools are there if you need them. Lots of long tenured employees, so upward mobility may be tougher than at some churn and burn companies out there.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep growing and keep the good parts in tact.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – The people I worked with in the department.
Cons – Incompitent dishonest supervision in tool dept.
Advice to Senior Management – If you are going to put someone with only working experience in charge. Send them to school to learn how to treat people and be honest.

Pros – I'm very happy with my work environment. My supervisors have been very accommodating with my work schedule by allowing me to finish my degree.
Cons – There has been a small amount confusion regarding the restructuring of my department over the last year. It was stressful for a short time but it much better now.

Pros – The only pro to working here is the slightly above average pay but it quickly is overcome by all the cons that you have to deal with from day to day.
Cons – Pretty much all of senior management has absolutely no clue of what is actually going on in the company. When they make decisions it has a negitive impact on the business 95% of the time. I have never witnessed the level of incompetence at any company I have ever worked for in my life that I have experienced while at ICU Medical. It is as if they are trying to do everything in their power to drive the company into the ground.
The unfortunate part is that they do actually have a few very talented employees working there but I can't imagine that they will stick around very long term with the way the company is being run.
Talent is never recognised. The company is plagued with internal politics. I have seen many people relocate to take a position here to regret it later. If you are looking at possibly working here or are offered a job from here, the best advice I could give you is drop it and never look back, this place is a disaster and the way it is going it will never improve.
Advice to Senior Management – Fire all senior management ans start from scratch, it is the only way it can possibly improve.

Pros – They pay pretty decent salaries.
Cons – The senior management are unqualified for their positions, and have made poor decisions that have affected quality. They are losing quality personnel like a mass exodus, yet they are oblivious. They will soon be unable to maintain the growth they have been enjoying without the necessary talent where it is needed most to clean up their messes.
Advice to Senior Management – It is time to start listening to the talented technical staff that you have managed to retain.

Current Employee – been working at ICU Medical
Pros – There are plenty of opportunities for process improvements, the fruit that remains is still pretty low.
Cons – Advancement will be a challenge during your employment with ICU - great place to get started but not a home for career driven individuals.
Corporate management continually fails to make the jump from a small startup mentality to mid-sized global company. There is a "them vs. us" mentality that is perpetuated by chronic mistrust and secrecy.
Advice to Senior Management – Take advantage of the talents you hired, some of the decisions would benefit from a discussion with the folks who will clean up the aftermath.

Current Employee – been working at ICU Medical
Pros – This is a great place to start your career. The pay is not the best but ICU Medical will hire you without some of the qualifications other companies require if they feel you are the right fit.
Cons – It is not the best company if your objective is to promote. The company does not have many layers of management, which is good. But, the downside is that the opportunity for advancement also suffers.
Advice to Senior Management – Please continue to seek the input of the guys/girls in the field selling these products. This will help make good decisions moving forward.

Current Employee – been working at ICU Medical
Pros – Medium Sized Company with small company agility. Lots of opportunity to contribute to the end product.
Cons – The company is going through some growing pains and is having some challenges adapting to its new vision
Advice to Senior Management – Higher level management should take some time to understand the details of what is going on within the company. An atmosphere of hiding problems and issues is becoming a way of getting it done. Sweeping things under the rug will not allow issues to be resolved and in the long run will cost more. Be sure that in the effort of looking good, your employees are not playing sleight of hand.
