    Pros

IDEX is a large organization that is lean enough to give you the opportunity to try new things and develop new skills. The leadership is very invested in the people and there are great development programs and you are surrounded by smart people. There are opportunities to work on global projects and with different teams. The company is growing and investing in new technology.

    Cons

There should be more communication from leadership to the rest of the businesses.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more time on communication.

    Pros

Great people! Decentralized model allows business to grow and evolve without being prescriptive. Utah is know for developing talent and IDEX has promoted from this location on a regular basis. This has created a career path for employees willing to put in the extra effort (opportunity is what you make it). The majority of employees want to win as a team!

    Cons

Location has big swings in demand, and some fear for their job when sales slow down. Management turn-over has slowed momentum and progress.

    Advice to Management

Continue to find ways to grow while creating improved stability (less management changes in short time frames).

    Pros

    - IDEX Corporation is a great company with strong values that invests a lot in employees, training, and our prosperity - Senior Staff members know that while the bottom line is important, fostering and enhancing talent is also imperative - Two weeks vacation plus holiday shutdown - CEO seems like a great guy- very humble and approachable

    Cons

    - Lake Forest isn't the most exciting area and a sort of long commute for younger employees who want to live in the city - At the corporate office it's rather quiet and reserved

  5. A wealth of knowledge and experience, but there is a lack of communication

I have been working at IDEX

    Pros

Working at IDEX Health & Science has been a great experience. The people, the knowledge, and the technology has been very good, and the spirit and attitude that most of employees have is great. Most everyone's attitude is great.

    Cons

The communication breakdown is difficult to deal with both between departments and management. The tribal knowledge is a bit strenuous but it is getting better. Dealing with management as far as bettering one's self, is tough!

    Advice to Management

Better communication for employees in regards to planning of yearly goals. Improve incentive/rewards for employees. Improve communication and duties between departments, to give a better understanding of how departments work together and what the end results should or could be.

    Advice to Management

Direct supportive Production Leads whom report to the new People Friendly Managers need to learn how to talk to Production Team. Lets keep the moral looking brighter by managing people with kindness and a firm hand not.

    Pros

    - Embrace six sigma and best of practice methodology in manufacturing - Realize and reinforce value of marketing in gaining marketplace marketshare

    Cons

    - Difficulty in solidifying engineering knowledge base and properly completing the product development lifeline - Recent rapid turnover of senior management leaves company in transition - Taking away tuition reimbursement program leaves question as to how they will continue to support their young, motivated employees

    Advice to Management

IDEX has certainly taken a hit in the latest financial fallout, but its built on a solid foundation and I believe in the direction and decisions Larry Kingsley has been able to support and lead. As a manufacturer, IDEX is an above average place to work.
