I worked at IDP Education full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked with some extremely talented colleagues who understood the power of globalized education. Base pay was sufficient. International travel was a high-lite as well.

    Cons

Destination teams were always blamed for the short-comings of the source countries. Bonus plans changed mid year. Work/Life balance needs improvement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support employees, keep bonus plans consistent,

More worried about the bottom line than the students they serve

I have been working at IDP Education full-time

    Pros

An international company that in theory could provide a lot of movement opportunities for an employee

Fairly stable future as it is one of the owners of the IELTS test

    Cons

As it is a large organization you can easily get lost in the structure. Many employees are simply considered cogs in the machine. The software that they have developed to "advise" students has done away with many of the soft skills that are needed when counseling students. IDP has become the McDonalds of Student Placement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper Management has very little clue about the Education industry. They are sales driven as opposed to trying to cater to the needs and wishes of the students they supposedly serve.

I worked at IDP Education part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It's a great bunch of people

    Cons

Leadership, esp strategic, is out of date and slow.
HR doesn't care and is invisible
    IT is severly underfunded

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's not all about the shareholders! The employees are very demoralised.

I have been working at IDP Education full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of travel, meeting with lots of clients, freedom to create and train people, events management experience, lots of different job titles.

    Cons

office politics, bonus issues, too much travel sometimes but can be reduced due to budget, very demanding of your time and expected to respond to emails all the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs more understanding of staffing issues.
