    Pros

Free to be your own boss, but always questioned on your decisions, even when your facility is beating expectations by 20 to 40%.

    Cons

Upper Management was rude, vulgar, and very over the top in it's treatment of the folks in the field getting it done for them. I'm sure those managers knew who they were, no management skills what so ever, just bullied and beat down several great employees until they decided to leave. Real professionals won't take that treatment for very long.

    Advice to Management

Rid your company of the good old boys club. All it is doing is creating an opportunity for a bad reputation in the market and community.

    Pros

There really is not any pros any longer on the pallet side of the business. Since the acquisition by Brambles and CHEP took over the management of IFCO, the company has diminished. No consistencies with anything. Training has fallen off along with other programs that IFCO used to implement but CHEP has hindered. Avoid applying for a job with IFCO or CHEP unless you are desperate.

    Cons

If you are in operations your work to life balance is poor. If you are a white collar employee, you will get passed over for opportunities by CHEP employees or someone outside the company. Benefits are being handcuffed by CHEP. CHEP has a better benefits package than IFCO but because CHEP has not handled their budget correctly, they are not passing the benefits over to IFCO employees. The merger between CHEP and IFCO has been very poorly operated.

    Advice to Management

The leadership has a weird way of showing it cares about the workforce. CHEP does not understand how to manage a blue collar workforce. You implement programs like safety week yet all the president of the company talks about is how impressed our CUSTOMERS were. What she does not understand is how unimpressed our workforce was. So was safety for our employees or our customers? Its really does not look good when the president says after 4 years they are going to let IFCO get back to its ways of when IFCO was successful. After four years of realizing your method of managing employees has failed, you are letting IFCO do what is does best? Its a little late for that. I don't think upper manager really has an understanding of how everyone feels. Achievers has been a failure from the start especially with the employees it is supposed to benefit. Peoples career have been ruined CHEP and CHEP has done nothing to help the current workforce feel safe or better about their jobs.

Some pros are benefits, some flexible time, and weekly pay.

    Cons

    Pros

Good pay, good hours, good benefits

    Cons

Hostile work environment given by General Manager (cussing at employees, slamming doors, yelling, hardly ever in office, there's no talking to the guy). Every employee hates him so much that he gets death threats and at one point a knife to his throat for yelling/cussing at an employee to his face. Horrible training, they do not have a training program what-so-ever. Office manager constantly yelling she hates her job. The assistant general manager is technically the one running the plant (it should be the general managers job). Horrible communication there. Just a bad place to work for.. It's best to continue your search else where; at the Kansas City location at least.

    Advice to Management

Better communication, have a training program, and stop the hostile environment
