I worked at IFCO Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Exposure to numerous IT job types.

    Cons

Political & hostile work environment due to unprofessional behavior by a long-time contract employee who enjoys a special relationship with the IT Director (an open secret among other employees as well as local management). She uses this influence to further her own agendas and marginalize or drive off those she cannot intimidate.

Skip this company unless you are desperate for IT-related work. You will not get a fair shot at success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The senior IT management at parent company Brambles should attempt to get an unfiltered view of the ethical environment at IFCO.

I have been working at IFCO Systems for more than a year

    Pros

The work life balance is really great. Our PTO was also recently bumped up so we have more time off as well.

    Cons

Not really a con regarding the company but my commute is really bad. As you an tell I can't really think of a con thus far. I've been here for a couple of years now and so far so good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As meetings become more relevant our ideas and frustrations are being heard more regularly and the appropriate actions are taking place. So Kudos to management.

Former Employee - Forklift Operator/Everything When Boss Isn't Around in Breinigsville, PA

I worked at IFCO Systems full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Being off of work and not having to deal with all the problems they have.

    Cons

They barely give you raises. If they do it'll be 25 cents a year if that. They won't take responsibility for their own mistakes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some real management that knows the sites. Not a random person that isn't experienced. Make seniority a priority. Anyone that has worked for your company or has worked for the site you are buying should be respected more by inexperienced workers that you so call management. Listen to your employees more. They are there to help too not just amts you can step on or slave workers.

I worked at IFCO Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Full P&L control as well as the ability to sell and bring in additional customers as General Manager. Ability to set pricing based on current market trends. Support of a National Sales team while GM concentrates on local business to business selling.

    Cons

Poor company hiring practices lead to Federal Investigation. Company needs more transparency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Former Employee - General Manager
    Former Employee - General Manager

I worked at IFCO Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Job provides a lot of independence and authority. The General Manager has the ability to set pricing, negotiate with vendors, hire/fire, etc. This is a true General Manger job.

    Cons

With the independence, there is a tremendous amount of pressure to hit your numbers. Responsibility for results lies squarely on the General Manager's shoulder. In addition, there is a constant need to keep up with internal initiatives which takes away from day to day management.
