I worked at IGA part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The workers and MOST of the managers were sweet as pie. The work was fairly easy too.

    Cons

I had to count out my register at the end of the day and that was hard. One of the managers seemed to have a problem with me. I also didn't like that I was new and had to be on register all alone with no help at closing time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to understand how hard it is to be new

I have been working at IGA part-time for more than a year

    Pros

~Very flexible and willing to work around student schedules for part-time employees
    ~Management is understanding of emergencies
    ~Friendly work environment

    Cons

~Store Owner is rude and unappreciative of the work the managers and employees do. It seems as though he can't distinguish between an honest mistake and an incompetent worker; he thinks everybody is the latter of the two.
~Store management can be clumsy and inconsistent at times, though well-meaning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mr.Owner, don't treat your employees like scum. If you treated them better the would take more pride in their work and your productivity would go up.

    Pros

    Very friendly and competent management.

    Very flexible work hours.

    Very compassionate and positive atmosphere.

Offers insurance even to part time employees.

The employees are always smiling and helpful and that can really bring up the mood.

This was a good first job when I was in High School.

It's a really tight knit place and everyone always seems to watch out for each other.

    Cons

The temperature inside is really chilly all year.

I'm not a fan of the maroon color scheme.

There are only two electric carts in the building.
