I have been working at IGA part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The IGA offered a part time job. It allowed evening hours after school. The shift would go by fast due to being busy. It taught me to be diligent in my work.,

    Cons

The pay was not good, but for a first job it allowed me to understand how to get things done without being told. It was minimal direction from manager.

    Advice to Management

More direction from managment would be a benefit as staff would be able to complete more detailed projects according to their instructions.,

I have been working at IGA part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The owner of the store is really flexible about hours and asking for days off. The management is nice. It's a small town so the environment is very laid back.

    Cons

The customers are often rude and hard to deal with. The pay isn't much. It's minimum wage which is 8.25 in IL. Even the managers get paid 8.25.

Management: Management is great, respectful and knowledgeable. Culture: Great culture, focus on people above all else, respect and knowledge are key.

    Cons

Compensation: Very low pay with little growth Perks: Very little perks Hours: Little scheduled work times and changing your schedule is a pain.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with great management and culture, best parts about the job. Pay could be raised, or just give people more hours instead of constantly hiring new staff.
