    Pros

promotions from within and fun environment to work in most days

    Cons

lack of training program. also the executive staff for the most part has no idea how to relate with or treate with respect/dignity and of the hourly associates and even many of the newer salaried members

    Advice to Management

focus on legitimate training programs that work and treat your lower level employees with the respect they deserve

    Pros

    Great customers, decent pay.

    Cons

Management talks down to you, many comments from cooks that are uncomfortable, owner is an angry man.

    Advice to Management

You catch more flies with honey. Communicating with the staff how you would like to be spoken to goes a long way. And smile a little more it's not that bad.

  6. Server

    I worked at IHOP part-time

    Pros

Treated well by managers and cooks for the most part. They don't mess around but are also very understanding especially for those who are working as first time servers.

    Cons

It depends on which iHOP you're working at but it's a server position, you get paid on which tips you get.

    Cons

No break at all, need more hostesses/ hosts per shift especially on a busy day, can't consume snacks

    Advice to Management

Give break times. Especially when workers are working from 9 am to 3 pm.

    Pros

You can make 80-100 per day if you care about helping customers. But you will not make what you deserve 15% tip from most tables.

    Cons

High turnover because of negative and hostile workplace. Negative environment. Angry cooks that are allowed to verbally abuse servers. A lot of management has bad attitude and the meetings are all negative.
Very angry and cheap guests because it is a fast food chain type restaurant. Parties of $300 are not charged gratuity but demand excellent service yet you will receive a low tip $0-10.

    Advice to Management

Train managers in having a good environment with encouragement and positivity. Charge gratuity for hard work when taking large groups.
